What piece(s) of equipment would you most like to try?
I meant no Rowland etc. mentioning integrated amps not their top of the line offerings. Same with VAC. His integrated, as excellent as it is, won't give me enough drive. Gryphon Diablo, $15k I guess, would be kind of inexpensive choice. Ypsilon hy...
What piece(s) of equipment would you most like to try?
So, realistically thinking, I would  first audition couple of integrated amps, Gryphon and Ypsilon come to mind. I don't need no Rowland or Pass or Accuphase. Then, Nottingham Anna Log turntable and a SME turntable. And speakers, I don't know, I w...

Nothing that I would never be able to afford or want to spend on.
Help Picking a turntable
If it sounds good to your ear I would go with the dealer recommendation. You trust him and you will get support from him that you might need. Do not spend less than needed, especially on analog. No VPI or Rega for me, I use Nottingham Analogue. Som...
Loudspeakers have we really made that much progress since the 1930s?
AM and shortwave radio with 18" speaker, this must be quite a thing.Interesting discussion.Modern figher jets need an army of service people to operate. Besides, one computer glitch and down they go nose first.

Czarivey, thank you. Well, if I ever need it, I got lucky - there is 50hz pulley for the Nottingham motor available from the UK dealers.

Al, what do you think will happen if a turntable AC synchronous motor is run on 120 V and 50 hz instead of 60 hz ?Also, is the the frequency really always stable 60 hz here in the US ? Voltage is definitely not.
Anyone into cassettes?
It is amazing by how much Maxell Metal Vertex backcoated reference cassette is better than everything else, at least with my deck, and the deck was not specifically biased for it. But these days each sealed Vertex is over $100 on ebay. Still worth...

Jeff Rowlands Amp and Dac vs. VAC amp and DAC
And to you.
Jeff Rowlands Amp and Dac vs. VAC amp and DAC
And this purpose remains unclear. As a philosopher, I am sure you understand it. Good luck with your audio quests.
Jeff Rowlands Amp and Dac vs. VAC amp and DAC
Oh, forgot to mention. Your computer could benefit from good power conditioner, not sure about the dac - after all it's Rowland. Also, usb cable from computer to dac matters too. I heard that better Audioquests are pretty good, so should be Purist...
Jeff Rowlands Amp and Dac vs. VAC amp and DAC
As you wish, I am a tolerable man.Rinpoche, I think you should slow down, get that cable that you bought, listen for couple of months and then move on to linestage tube preamplifiers while being prepared to replace all the cables in your system wh...
