Why do turntables sound different?
As I said, according to Ralph everyone with good hearing and sense should go after the Technics and Triplanar arm. And don't forget about Atma-Sphere amps and Classic Audio speakers. Everything should be wired with Mogami cables, of course. That's...

That's quite a plea, very moving. Do I care? No.
Focal headphones. How good?
I just wanted to know where they stand in the world of high-end headphones and their sound signature. Are they overall better than, say, Audeze planar or Grado or whatever ? I was not only thinking about digital recordings but analog too.
Help me narrow down some speaker choices
Are you sure everything was properly broken in ? Were the cables matched ? I don't quite understand, too many negatives.
Sentimental song.
Every day is a special occasion. I play Houston's " I will always love you " in my mind.

Only one Nottingham distributor/dealer in the US, as far as I know. Larry, Hollywood Sound in Florida. Theoretically, unless they restict the sales for a particular region, one could get Nottingham from the UK, except motor and motor pulley for th...

I don't know how exactly you clean the records. I use Okki Nokki too, with Audio Intelligent three step solutions. I first agitate with fluid and then soak for about ten minutes with fluid one, vacuum it off, and then fluid two, vacuum it off, the...

If you choose British speakers you got to have British turntable !Just kidding, but..You could start upgrading from the beginning. The turntable itself is  a 'pace maker', pace rhythm and timing , as Brits say. And they are right. Nottingham is a ...

nonoise, I agree, I just didn't think of it in those terms.
Thoughts on the new Sutherland KC Vibe?
I too have the AcousTech, not Premium, though. I have not heard the Vibe. Whether you like it or not quite depends on the rest of your equipment and your taste. I did hear the opinion that it could be too smooth and a little slow for some. I would...
Searching for the most "accurate" speaker (below 15K)
Focal Utopia with Nagra should be able to give you what you are looking for. Speaker cables would have to be carefully matched. Many use Utopia with tube electronics, though, it has a tendency to be a little bright.
Gryphon vs. McIntosh
Gryphon makes their own cables. Expensive. I read that people used various cables with Gryphons, including Purist, Echole, Jorma and others I have never heard of. Gryphon and Harbeth should get along very well.
Has anyone made the jump to $uper High end and were disappointed?
But Continuum turntable might in fact be the last table you'll ever need. I would get their classic Caliburn, though.
Has anyone made the jump to $uper High end and were disappointed?
That's not ultra high-end.

I would not touch anything until ready to get those Harbeths. Then I would move up the chain.
