Bananas rule, spades drool. End of discussion.
Vice-grips on your binding posts?  Really?  Must do wonders for resale.  AudioQuest makes a great hand wrench that fits both terminal sizes. @coppy777  , I just did a quick google on those and found a picture on AA.  Unfortunately, my B&W b...
Interconnects
Ah the flat earthers once again rear their ugly head where they’re clearly not needed or wanted. @soix  , I believe it is the equivalent of a holy mission.
Kids, Dogs, and Speakers
@wqgq_641  , I am always doing quick googles when people list what speaker they are listening to. (With the operative word being 'quick.') Those A4s are interesting . . . kind of like a two-way (excuse the term) "bookshelf" with a cabinet built on...
How does bi-wiring work?
I'll take Paul McGowan's word for it. Biwiring is a waste. Who is this man they call Paul McGowan?  Is he a myth, or does he truly exist?
Bananas rule, spades drool. End of discussion.
I checked my spades (2 spades on the amp end in combination with 2 bananas and 4 spades on the speaker end) tonight, and they were tight.  It's been at least two or three years since I messed with them at either (amp or speaker) end.
How does bi-wiring work?
Gentlemen, Is the discussion + - to + - or + to ++ and - to --? Two normal speaker cables can be connected either way. Did I mis something?  Was that ever the question?
Finally upgrading my amp
I would buy a dog if you don't mind walking him every night. No need to buy one, @emergingsoul  , the shelters are full of good dogs (and cats) available for a small adoption fee.
Signal tube versus power tube, sound impact?
Shirley you must know that this flies against common wisdom that pairs tube preamps with solid state power amps.  @mambacfa  , I cannot find the post in which Shirley weighed in on this one.
Signal tube versus power tube, sound impact?
Seems to me the preamplifier tubes Carry the most weight when dealing with the sonic signature. This has been my experience, except in the case where the tubes in my amp were getting worn out & tired.
Signal tube versus power tube, sound impact?
@akgwhiz  , it is always good to have spares.
Finally upgrading my amp
For the life of me, I do not know what happens on this site when I try and fail to paste a link (I am not at all computer literate) but here is the other link I tryed to paste above: https://www.musicdirect.com/equipment/amplification/integrate...
Finally upgrading my amp
. . . for " a few dollars more" ($3200) here is a EL84 based Luxman (less power) from MD, and it has a phono stage! https://www.musicdirect.com/equipment/amplification/integrated-amp/luxman-sq-n150-tube-integrated-amplifier/   and for the ...
Finally upgrading my amp
@jjbeason14  , I think this is actually the same integreated, but new, from MD for $2300; and looking at the specs section (which does not look the same when I click on "specs" of the "open box") it says it is 60 wpc, not 30 wpc. https://www.mu...
Signal tube versus power tube, sound impact?
. . . I also meant to say that although I personally never heard huge sonic differences when I was going back & forth with different HEALTHY output tubes in my first two 6550 based amps (I have never rolled tubes in my present EL34 based amp a...
Finally upgrading my amp
You also might takea look on Music Direct and plug in "integrated" into the search box (as I just did) and see if anything comes up in your price range that piques your interest.  The beauty of MD is that they have a 60 day audition period, but I ...
