Try connect 4 speakers as a group follow the wiring diagram, one group for right channel and one for left channel, leave the last speaker unconnected and see what’s the result.http://www.colomar.com/Shavano/4ps-spkr.gifhttps://www.amplifiedparts.c...
If I buy electronics from England, will I need some sort of converter to use them here?
Its wall wart is multi-region, and come with plug adapter.

Can I ask what’s the risk if the impedance doesn’t match (ie using the current speaker selector and a second amp)? Harm to the equipment or just uneven sound? Not too many power amp can handle 2 ohms or less load, Some amp protection circuitry wil...

I suggest you try this first: Onkyo front left and right speaker outs --->  speaker selector with impedance matching ----> speakers Imo, when you parallel all speakers without impedance matching, it give a very low impedance for the On...

The OSD Audio ATM7 7-zone speaker selector dose not provide impedance matching, try one speaker distribution selector with impedance matching, if still has insufficient music volume then add a higher power stereo amp connect to the Onkyo front R/L...

Turning off tube preamp first sends solid state amp into protection?
It’s pretty easy to accidentally turn off the preamp when I’m leaving the 509X on all the time. My suggestion is use a IR remote controlled plug/outlet for the CL40 valve preamp and a remote control with macro, program a set of command sequence to...

Best way to integrate a subwoofer into Luxman Preamp + L-509X Integrated system?
I suggest use a automatic a/b line level switcher from MCM Electronics, when the CL40 output a music signal, the switcher will automatically switch its input from CL40 Output 2 to the subwoofer. http://www.neobits.com/mcm_electronics_50_8396_a...
