Chained speakers signal connected in series You can connect two speakers in series and it won’t harm the amplifier. BUT because of two sets of crossover connected in series the sound it produce will be totally different from just one speaker connect to the amplifier! Both woofer in each spe...

testing a crossover You can find all the photos herehttps://systems.audiogon.com/ Without drivers connected, The HF measurement should equal to the DC resistance of the 0.22mH inductor. The MF measurement should equal to the DC resistance of the 2.5mH inductor + 2.2Ω.
testing a crossover @fiesta75 and pragmasi, IMO, the layout of components is not ideal, especially those capacitors that seat on top of resistors! since he is at it, I think it's time to fix that...
testing a crossover Hi Guys, thankyou so much for all your help, but i still dont see a solution to this problem,in my opinion there is shorts in both xos, please see below- LEFT SPEAKER / RIGHT SPEAKER speaker terminals with everything connected on both speakers MID/H...

testing a crossover ill try draw a schem.but its difficult, but ill do my best @ likklegerry, If you can print-out the crossover pcb photo and add all the component position on it with wiring and post the picture, maybe we can figure out the schematic and go from t...
testing a crossover i would also upload some photos, but as this is my first ever use on this site,im not sure how to do this Go to Virtual Systems page, use the "Create System" to upload photos. https://systems.audiogon.com/
testing a crossover The formula for parallel resistance is 1/Rt= 1/R1+1/R2+1/R3.... https://www.electronics-notes.com/articles/basic_concepts/resistance/resistors-in-series-parallel.ph...Since he measured almost 8 ohms then the total resistance will be 1/8 ohm + ...
Replacement capacitors exploding @rodman99999 Thank you for the link. @fiesta75 No apology necessary, your earlier post lead me to these two document from cornell-dubilier and caused the confusion: http://wiki.ece.rose-hulman.edu/herniter/images/0/03/Aluminum-Electrolytic_Capacit...
Replacement capacitors exploding @cakyol, I totally agree film cap is the better choice on speaker crossover, what confused me is if using two same-value aluminum electrolytic capacitors connected in series back-to-back, the capacitance is equal to either of the original pair ...

step up transformer noise Is it better to position a step up transformer near the phonostage or near the turntable to prevent issues with hum? Are you talking about moving coil cartridge SUT? https://forum.audiogon.com/discussions/where-to-insert-the-step-up-transforme...
What’s the relationship between gain (dB) and power (watts)? The gain switch is a nice feature on the power amp, 23dB of gain can give most active preamp better range of volume control, but passive preamp might need 29dB gain to drive the amp to full power. Why not call Bryston to get the answer? |
