Lumin X1 latest Review like we have been saying
Nice commercial for Lumin and for you.sure, sure...we get it...you don’t intend to do it and your “audio salon” stays away from sales tactics. Yet, you did it. You are not objective, you did not ask a question, you are not opening a topic for disc...

Diminishing returns indeed....
Point of diminishing return for a DAC
12-31-2019 12:41pm"Percentages require a fixed point for a calculation. None of you, and none of us, have that reference point."Maybe yes, maybe no. Like you say, nobody knows....maybe.Then again, my take is that those who kinda know where that ...
Streamers with best apps?
Love this topic.I only have experience with Bluesound Node 2i and "Bluos" going to my Chord Qutest via Coax.Seems easy, elegant and intuitive to me.Easy integration with Tidal and tons of content to choose from.Just wish Apple Music could integrate.
Point of diminishing return for a DAC
12-31-2019 9:06amIn my experience, albeit somewhat limited, I believe the 80/20 rule applies; you get roughly 80% of the sound quality with 20% of the cost. Its the remaining 20% sound quality where you spend most of the cost, and time. The pr...
Point of diminishing return for a DAC
12-27-2019 8:51pmI went from a bifrost to a chord hugo. Law of diminishing returns didn't apply there. HUGE difference. -Elevik+1 - I upgraded to Chord M Scaler and Chord Hugo TT 2 this summer and quite happy.   Wow..again, this kind of thing D...
Streamer and DAC for Mcintosh MC462 and C22
If your budget is $15k for a Streamer/DAC and you’re asking an “Internet forum” for advice, then you’re set up for some high budget guesswork...;-)my only contribution to your guessing game is:1. Lumin U1 mini2. Chord Hugo TT and M scalerwhy...?.....
Switched to Ls50 wireless; they sucked the “Life” out of my music
That blows.Def dump the active KEFs.What about passive LS50s with an amp that matches well and a cost-effective DAC?Then you will know if that deeper sound is there.
Switched to Ls50 wireless; they sucked the “Life” out of my music
Where’s your DAC?How are you streaming to the KEFs?Are the speakers broken in yet?Lastly, WTF did you do it?
Point of diminishing return for a DAC
I just believe that there is a threshold at around the $2500 price point. This includes:1. Mytek Brooklyn +2. Chord Hugo 23. benchmark DAC34.Schiit Yiggy5. Sure, it can include your entry, too...;-)After that, you need to spend more on all your ot...
Point of diminishing return for a DAC
mtdining48 posts12-26-2019 1:46pmSince I have recent experience from Pi DAC through DCS Vivaldi stack, I might as well chime in. I ended up with an Ayre Codex fed by a Roon Nucleus. I have been quite underwhelmed by the Rendu products - Digital ...
Streaming player with digital USB or coax out
Dude, just do a search here. The topic has been covered x100.Plus, you dont describe any of your feature priorities, so any real help will be a total crap shoot.
Point of diminishing return for a DAC
I think anywhere past $2500 has diminishing returns.plus, in order to realize the benefits of ”more” in a DAC, you need to keep, spending on other stuff first, then you’re on the audiofool merry go around.
CD Player vs. music streaming
I agree with Mesch above. You can do both.1. If your budget is as you describe, perhaps buy a high quality DAC. There are many to choose from and most are very good at that price point over $2500.2. Buy a CD transport and connect it to your DAC vi...
Best used DAC under $750.
If that was my budget, I would own a Mytek Liberty.fully featured.MQA support.volume control.headphone amp, good US company.very well reviewed.good form factor.have seen them used within your budget.
