Recommendations for fast sounding cables
I'm in the - get another SS amp crowd.  Good luck with getting the magic you're looking for.  This is part of the fun/frustration of this ridiculous hobby.  :)
Best speakers for max. $3000?
The Aerial 10T is very difficult to beat and falls into your price point.
Wilson Alexia 2
I've heard Wilson with ARC Ref gear many times at shows and it's a fantastic combination.
Should I fix it and sell it or sell it as is? Mark Levinson No. 331
Fix it and keep it
Ayre KV-5 Twenty or Parasound JC 1
I think you have your answer.  :)
Ayre KV-5 Twenty or Parasound JC 1
Are the JC1's brand new?  They do take quite a while to break-in so even if you were to try them they won't be at their best for several weeks from my experience.  So even if you were to take the effort to set them up you won't get the true flavor...
Sold My Ayre QB-9 DSD - Help Me Choose A New DAC!
I'm in a similar position as the OP and still have my QB9 DSD.  I'm very seriously considering the Twenty upgrade as I am still impressed with it and have a hard time justifying replacing it without seeing what the Ayre guys were able to do.
Ayre KV-5 Twenty or Parasound JC 1
There's only one way to find out!  You're in an enviable position having all of the equipment on hand.  I'd try both setups out to see which you prefer, both are excellent.I have had JC1's for many years with no urge to change, and also use an Ayr...
old high end preamps..
Exactly right twoleftears. The Denis Had equipment is outstanding. Once he left it became all about profit margins IMO.gentle jax, if you are happy then that is all that matters. I don’t think I am "hating" on Cary, I’m just disappointed in the ne...
Revel Salon2 with Linn Klimax Solo Dynamik
I'm a former Linn owner and tried some of their amplifiers with non-Linn speakers and in my experience they were a let down.  The Revels like lots of power and I think you could do much better than the Linn amps.Just my experience.
Most enduring audio purchase
I'll second Aerial 10T's, closely followed by my Parasound JC1's.
old high end preamps..
The 98 is a great preamp, and I imagine it's still the same design as it was.  I owned it for several years and would easily recommend it.  It's one of the old point to point hand wired designs and really is a fantastic preamp.
old high end preamps..
@skiroe You can look at the images on their website.  Some products say "Made in USA" while others say "Assembled in USA" on the back panel.  The old Dennis Had products, which IMO put Cary on the map - are the ones made in the USA.  These include...
old high end preamps..
Of the three listed, I would choose the Proceed but wow it's really old at this point.  The offshore Cary stuff never impressed me and I've never been a Bryston fan either.Good luck with your decision!
Smart Hub Recommendations
I've been using SmartThings for a couple of years now and am very happy with it.
