Experience with Townshend Seismic Podiums on Concrete Floor (they're great)
@brownsfan  Good point. Type 4 (seismic) is part of type 3, and would be small in comparison. It would be nice to see an interview with a speaker maker that addressed these vibrational issues in these terms.  @benzman  -- I love your description ...
Experience with Townshend Seismic Podiums on Concrete Floor (they're great)
I read the Townsend website write up on their seismic pods and sorry not buying it. ....Speaker interaction with suspended plywood floors is a very common and way more significant acoustic issue. All one has to do is jump up and down in a room a...
Hello Guys,
a few guys took this as an opportunity to have a discussion among themselves completely ignoring the substance of this post. With a lot of blank space. LOL. Welcome to forum discussions. You got a few good answers, right? Consider yourself unsc...
Experience with Townshend Seismic Podiums on Concrete Floor (they're great)
@surfcat "Makes me wonder if every single system, especially those with floor standers, would automatically benefit." I have to say I agree.  My challenge, as a true blue skeptic, is to keep listening critically. Am I in an infatuation period? I...
Hello Guys,
I was surprised to hear this:

@ozzy — thanks for the link to your review! @relayer101 — I saw someone on another forum asking about down-firing ports. I can’t remember what they said, so you might need to search the web a bit on that question. It’s a good one. @snilf — I got...

The way to do this is to put a wanted ad on US Audiomart, rather than starting a discussion thread. For example:

@jtcf Between the detailed and earnest comments here and the reviewers I found online who were not just cheerleaders, I thought they would be worth a serious trial. they did not disappoint. I suppose those with Isoacoustics or other solutions migh...
Under my tower speakers -- Isoacoustics Gaia, other options?
The Townshend podiums are fantastic. I'm posting a reaction/description of what I heard and why I am keeping them in a separate thread.
Linear Tube Audio- Little Known Great- Linear Power Supply
A friend with 30 years experience likes Acopian. They are industrial strength -- you can just plug them in and never bother with them again. They are often sold on ebay, too. I got my $305 unit for $140 on ebay, new, and it works like a charm on m...
NEW MASTERSOUND 845 COMPACT TUBE INTEGRATED AMP : REVIEW.. PERFECTION
Lot of all caps going on there, bro.
Looking for suggestions
Just to start of, your older AVR is probably not giving you the best sound. I realize it's doing a job for you, but that's clearly a limiting factor. Without describing the kind of sound preference you have, advice about a speaker is hard to give.
Tube or solid state
tube preamp to tube amp or  tube preamp to class A SS Both really good. Some days I like one, other days, the other.
Under my tower speakers -- Isoacoustics Gaia, other options?
I watched as much of it as I could.
Anybody try the new Heaven 11 Billie Mk 2?
I agree with @ghasley too. The only way I’d demur a bit is that the word "review" helps lend credibility where essential elements of the review process -- a.k.a. honest criticism -- is missing. There is no F.D.A. approval process for this stuff, n...
