What amps are out there that are Class A, 50 wpc into 8 ohms?
@grannyring Do you have a current website for Clayton? I cannot find a working one using search.
Experience with Townshend Seismic Podiums on Concrete Floor (they're great)
@cd318 Thanks. Just watched that video. Very interesting and it seems to advocate for both their custom product and Townshend. @brownsfan may be interested in this one.

@sokogear  I learned of a great company called Symposium acoustics (on Audiogon) that makes multi layered platforms that can go under anything and also makes roller blocks that serve a similar purpose to podiums. Fantastic post! Threads (like ...
50 years of Hip Hop- How Come?
@mwinkc Well put. It’s pathetic to see intolerance trying to disguise itself as music criticism. More than a tinge of implicit racism, too, in my estimation.
New sound immersion processes
Surround sound is for adults who still pine for Disney World.

There’s a lot of music which is not my taste. But that’s all I need to say. I don’t need to deride it as "not music." I’m pretty sure that most people don’t listen to twelve-tone classical music, either, but it was largely made by white guys, so ...

@audiopoint Thanks for weighing in. I am not sure I followed everything there. If you were to make your main point in a single clear paragraph, I'd be interested to read it. It might help me understand what you wrote, at length. I blame my own lac...

Thanks mapman. So  Isoacoustics stands+ Auralex Subdude platform. What do those cost, together? Still a fraction of Townshend but these things add up.

@prof  Unfortunately I found they weren't to my taste.  I lost a bit too much "room feel" in the bass and they changed the tonality a bit more than I wanted Good evidence that (a) the room-speaker dyad is a huge factor which cannot be predicte...
