Should my next purchase be from a brick and mortar?
Your question prompts a few from me: What is it about B&M stores that seems valuable to you? Do you want to support local businesses and the people who are nearby? Do you value the idea of such stores being available to customers in the future...
Check in: How quickly are streamers and servers evolving?
Brains get calcified and what's actually paranoia or OCD is passed off as "loyalty" or "objective truth." There are a bunch of news organizations who base their whole strategy off this truth, but alas, their demographic is dying off by the day.
members and their systems
I learn the most about audio from posts where people are figuring out how to get good sound on a budget. They are ingenious and thrifty and find ways to make things. Necessity is the mother of invention, and good sound can be had with a little swe...

@audiotroy Do you carry the Audio Magic?
Looking for input on Legacy Audio speakers purchase.
I wanted to try some Legacy speakers -- very impressive -- but their local dealer wouldn't let me try them at home. Disappointing.
Where to locate Equipment?
It can't hurt to measure your room with a mic to see if there's a nice null off to side which would help make an informed decision.
Why would anyone want class AB amp when class A always sounds better ?
Obviously. It's just too hard to keep the snark in, right? Haven't we all had enough of such meanness?

Look you guys are getting the metaphor wrong. You are not sluts and you are not whores. You are Johns. You remain the same while the gear changes. You are the customer; you are the john.
enough amplifier power
So many speakers out there are 88dB, which is freaking ridiculous, these do need hundreds of watts. Ridiculous? Hundreds of watts? Come on. I’ve tried many speakers that are 87-92 db with amps that do 60 wpc, both tube and SS. They sounded great, ...
Taking time (and time outs) to enjoy the ride...
One of the positive things about a hobby is that it asks for us to do things, to interact with things, problem solving and experimenting. That is not "nervosa" but engagement. The aspiration to lay back and just listen is a good one but humans are...
Between a Node 2i and DAC: Does Coax cable quality really matter?

Here's a kind of side question to the OP's: How many here were swapping gear in and out and realized they needed to work on their room? If that was you, and you sorted out your room's acoustics, did you go back to swapping gear? Did that then, aga...

@douglas_schroeder There is nothing wrong with loving the gear as much as the music itself. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.Hear hear! I'm agnostic about which is more important to me, but the amount of people who weighed in with the idea that...
