Problem with tube amp
A good company should sell you a schematic. They probably soldone to the technician they sent you to. I think some technicians could fix stuff without one,but they need one for the specifications to make it exactly right.
Problem with tube amp
I don't know about biasing your amp,but if you could try swapping tubes between the left and right also.It could be a cap starting to leak,or other small part failing. Most likelysomething small, tube first choice, then cap etc.

Also besides the above mentioned, usually the cheaper the cartridge and stylus combination, the more harshness, distortion, plus other sonic problems.
Mother of All Ground Loops
Also, there could be a capacitor leaking, shorting, or other part tied to the ground(chassis)that will pass voltage to the metal case.If it is new,it may have been miswired also.
Harshness/Distortion Question - Newbie
The only time the harshness could be tied to vinyl,is a bad pressing, production problem,or bad job on the engineers part. Its not a characteristic of vinyl thats done right.
Speaker Burn In...
Some people tune the receiver off station for the FM hiss while not in the room.Others put the speaker facing each other, sometimes in a closet with the FM noise.I just enjoy them while they break in.If not over-driven,it's hard to do itwrong.Just ...
Moving up from Marantz 2325, to new amp and preamp
Musical Fidelity make nice integrated amps that have the nicepoints of tube and solid state.Their power amps are good too,but will increase the cost going separates.I think theygive you a good value, and embarrass pricier amps quite often.Worth che...

Mother of All Ground Loops
This can be dangerous!!!Does your home have properly grounded outlets? Check to see if there is a ground lift switch flipped. The Odyssey amps look like they have a grounded plug I think? You could call them and ask if they are. The ones on their w...
