Mccormack dna-1 protection problem
@evilhifi  That sounds right.  I called Steve a few months ago to see what was current with DNA-1 upgrades.  The last mod to my amp was 18 years ago. He said any DNA-1 with a 15+ year old driver board, they would only work on if the work included ...
Mccormack dna-1 protection problem
As others have rightly noted, give Steve or Patrick a call.  I'm quite confident they will do whatever they can to help you rectify your situation.  Real good guys!
Power regenerators
I am currently using a PS Audio P5 to feed my system.  In the past, I owned a P500, and two PPPs.  The P5 was a real game changer compared to PS's earlier offerings.  I could not connect my power amp. to the PPP with our shutting down the regenera...

Vandersteen 2Wq subwoofers with M5-HP crossovers - help needed
I've had my M5-HP for years.  With as much as Richard upgrades his wares I wonder if the crossover has undergone any substantive upgrades.  Anyone know??
Talk but not walk?
@twoleftears   Don't believe "perfection" exists in audio reproduction.  If so, we would all be questing after the same stuff to achieve audio nirvana.🤫

Damp those vibrating solids.  Vibration and resonance are the enemies of great sound.  That or the audiophile must "manage" the nature of those kinetics.

WOW!  This thread is a perfect example of how science does not and will never account for what our ears hear.  "Fake Science"!BTW...Michael, I still have all corners of my listening room treated with your products and they make a substantive diffe...
SACD/CD player update
@aalenik   A Big +1 for Dan Wrights work with disc spinners.  Listening right now to the excellent Starship Troopers soundtrack on my Modwright Marantz 8005.  Huge ball of sound with sweeping dynamics.  Music has life!
"Super Rectifier"
I replaced the stock Sovtek 5AR4 with a Cryoset Gold Lion GZ34.  The sound improved as hardness to the mods and treble disappeared.  Cryo'd G-L's have a very balanced sound and stay quiet a long time!  I use their 12AU7s in my line stage.
Does anyone leave their amp and preamp on all the time?
I leave my system powered up 24/7 including a tube line stage and a tube rectified outboard SACD player power supply and tubed analog board in the SACD player.  I leave mine on for the same reasons as @soix mentioned above.
Talk but not walk?
Some people, it appears, have placed themselves in a box or have allowed the walls to be erected around them over time where they can only see things one way and those who approach a topic from a different perspective are wrong, no matter what the...

@soix  Hard to believe how tone deaf people can be.  How does @audiotroy not see the terrible impression they are making for themselves by their condescending, negative comments about owner's appreciation for gear they don't happen to sell?  My so...

@soix A Big +1 I quickly lose respect for any dealer that disparages a brand they don’t sell and then promotes a brand their audio emporium carries. Worse, as you pointed out, they were basing their opinion on hearing them at shows. Anyone who has...
