| SACD/CD player update @aalenik A Big +1 for Dan Wrights work with disc spinners. Listening right now to the excellent Starship Troopers soundtrack on my Modwright Marantz 8005. Huge ball of sound with sweeping dynamics. Music has life! | |
| "Super Rectifier" I replaced the stock Sovtek 5AR4 with a Cryoset Gold Lion GZ34. The sound improved as hardness to the mods and treble disappeared. Cryo'd G-L's have a very balanced sound and stay quiet a long time! I use their 12AU7s in my line stage. | |
| Does anyone leave their amp and preamp on all the time? I leave my system powered up 24/7 including a tube line stage and a tube rectified outboard SACD player power supply and tubed analog board in the SACD player. I leave mine on for the same reasons as @soix mentioned above. | |
