ARC's new REF-75 Phil- So you are saying the only time you heard the Ref 75 was at The Show?
Aragon or Acurus from Indy Audio Labs? Saw them and had a nice chat with Rick at The Show in Newport Beach last week. Very impressed with both the Acurus and the Aragon product. I can tell you I had a 17 y.o Acurus amp on my bench a month ago. All the caps looked good. No D.C. offset a...
ARC's new REF-75 The brightness you heard the following day could have been due to a lack of people in the room. Most of the rooms were acoustically challenged. Adding bodies to the room seemed to soften up the top end a bit. It also tends to break up a bit of ech...
Retubing an ARC VT100 mkll BTW Never use a KT-120 for the regulator pass element in any ARC product. It's a definite no no.
Getting Rid of a Ground Loop Disconnect the mains from the Sky set top cable box and see if the hum/buzz goes away....This should stop the buzz in your system. If it does, your cable box needs to be grounded properly. Have them come out and take care of it for you.

Thoughts on Audio Research D70 I think you mean cross couplers? So insted of using 2)6FQ7 per channel you are using one 6922 and a 6H30 as the driver. The input tube remains a 6922. What are you setting the plate deferential voltages to? I believe with the 6FQ7, now a 6922, it ...
Thoughts on Audio Research D70 6H30's draw more heater current...
Thoughts on Audio Research D70 The D-70 is truly an old friend....
Locating capacitors It doesn't need to be a Nichicon. There are plenty of good quality cap manufacturers out there. Why don't you call the manufacturer of the tube amp you own and see how much they want for the part.
One source delivering higher volume. Check your owners manual. Some equipment allow you to vary the input sensitivity so you can match the levels of all your inputs. You can also email Arcam.
Replasment for Mullard Long Plates? I like the JJ ECC803S. I believe they have long plates and sound wonderful. And best of all, they're quiet.
Cary SLP-05 Output Capacitor Question The only thing you are potentially doing is raising the frequency of the -3dB down point in the low end.
