No love for Legacy Audio Like OP, I am a Legacy owner and wish more were posted about them. Obviously, they are indeed large and heavy, very big footprint, hard to pack, and nearly impossible ever to ship for sale or trade. I use the Signature SE because I would need 9' c...
2nd systems- who’s got one? Main system has phono stage, two streamers, DAC, CD transport, analog tuner, cassette deck, tube linestage pre, SS amp for towers, dual-firing 1,000 watt sub. Entry room has streamer, analog stereo tuner, tube integrated amp, Firefly DAC, monitor ...
Schiit Freya+(Plus) @swordsman1 As I have told others above, Schiit itself is your best resource for info on impedance matching or any other question. Just tell them you want to match it with the Proton monoblocks. Schiit website has a handy email link and they will ...
Schiit Freya+(Plus) @swordsman1 Not a pairing I have tried or could speculate on. Just make sure the output tubes used on the Freya maintain a low impedance. Whether you like the match or not, it will certainly be different.
American Made Audio Products @darkj Suggest you check out Legacy Audio loudspeakers (Illinois) and Schiit Audio (amps, DACS, equalizers) in CA with some production in TX. "Designed and built" in US; can't vouch for all parts.
God doesn't need to know what time it is. What gets me is Rolex giving their fancy watches to professional golfers. As if wearing one during a competitive round would help! (Even if you're a slowpoke player and the officials have put you "on the clock," wouldn't this be the caddie's job?)...
Western Electric looking for consumer feedback to make new tubes Thanks for circulating. Just did my part as well.
Tannoy Definition Subwoofer No hum in mine. The dual opposite firing cones effectively equal 2 subs. A true steal at the price, and the best option for my particular room. Undoubtedly sold out by now, at least at Upscale.
Why do I need power management if I have a great power cord? +1 hilde45 The video comparison with "black background" rings true. Same principle applies in framing pictures. Or plant a rose garden in an empty lot -- you may think it looks fine until you surround it with a hedge of dark yews. Now you see what...
Schiit Freya + Class A in Stereophile @brunomarcs I have intended doing just the same, upgrading from Freya+ to the RP-7 or even the RP-9. Though I am not sure the dealer's trial period really allows enough time for a full A/B workout. Sounds like you have bought the Rogue for better ...
What stereo equipment do respected musicians listen to? All the musicians I know and have known are/were indifferent to audiophile notions of "high fidelity." They inhabit the world of actual music, not our world of sound reproduction. A different realm. Audiophiles encourage one another to "enjoy the ...
Feel free to talk me off the ledge About speakers being most important: it depends. For years I upgraded electronics while keeping the same speakers. When I finally got some loose change, upgraded the speakers by an order of magnitude and at last discovered how just good my amp a...
Feel free to talk me off the ledge What they all said! No system is built in a day or a month or a year or a decade, and most are forever works in progress. It's a journey, not a destination. Read gdhprentice, then buckle up and take the ride.
A Suggestion Regarding Removal Of Posts Those above, thank you for this information.
A Suggestion Regarding Removal Of Posts Not censorship, true. But then neither is it a forum when the rules of participation are kept secret and then enforced without explanation by arbitrary whim. |
