Amps In Wall Or Conditioner?
tomic601 +1. Fortunately, no wall warts in the system and DAC is a good one. If an electrician ever shows up I will have him follow your advice.grannyring, have definitely looked at Puritan, which must be the gold standard as many other users veri...
Amps In Wall Or Conditioner?
Thanks, all. As planned, stereo amp stays in the wall. Conditioner goes in the wall. DAC, streamers, CD go in the conditioner. Analog sources can probably go anywhere(?). Preamp and sub amp are the floaters. Then we listen and fiddle and await the...
Amps In Wall Or Conditioner?
builder3, yes I will experiment within the limit of available possibilities at any particular time.gdhp, mijostyn, thanks for the clarification. As it happens, nothing but audio outlets on my (in that sense) dedicated circuit. Believe I will add a...
Amps In Wall Or Conditioner?

Tannoy Definition Subwoofer
Just a closeout price, not scratch & dent. Kevin bought them all, every unit the distributor had remaining, hence the bargain price. According to Kevin's video, it DOES have adjustable high-pass filter. Also, goes down to 15-19Hz, depending on...

HiFi vs MidFi
Very true about control of room acoustics. However, all else being equal in that dimension:Helped a friend, who had been without home hi-fi for decades, set up a new system for a smallish listening space. $1100 Cambridge streamer/DAC/digital pream...

On ''what there is''
What there is extends from Grado to Grace, Bluepoint to Goldfinger.+1Such a long and winding road to the simple answer. Sometimes it's more the journey than the destination.
On ''what there is''
Music is inside us not only outside us.... I can accept that. So the recording would spark the music within us. In what sense can it be said that music is within us? Perhaps, as we are what we eat, we are also what we hear (have heard). Though ...
On ''what there is''
I listen music now at least not sounds -- MahgisterIf you are not attending a live performance or hearing a live stream of a performance, then you are not listening to music, you are listening to recordings.
On ''what there is''
To recap: OP says his theme "sounds philosophical," which it does, but turns out he's simply praising the collective knowledge generated by the forum. Given that several powerful minds hang out around here, we went quickly to metaphysics, material...
