Great SET output and Power transformers
Electraprint makes great transformers. However, "the best" and "cheap" do not usually go together.
I need advice on Lowthers
You owe it to yourself to give them a listen. The newest Lowthers have been redesigned to tame the midrange peak. For details go to http://www.lowther-america.comI have an MBL sub that blends very well with Lowthers in a Lamhorn cabinet. I would s...

how do I convert a 12v trigger to 5v
It would be very simple to build a regulator. In fact, it only takes a single 3 pin IC that drops 12V down to 5V. Radio Shack has them for about $1.50.
What do I do with a FedEx claim denial?
Viggen, I agree they should honor whatever agreement they have entered into. The "Terms and Conditions" that is part of every airbill states in part "We won't be liable for your acts or omissions, including but not limited to improper or insuffici...
What do I do with a FedEx claim denial?
Viggen,If my examples distort what you intended to say, then I apologize. However, "no matter what the quality of packaging is" seems very clear to me. I believe my examples simply illustrate the problem with your position.
What do I do with a FedEx claim denial?
I also think that Viggen is way off base on this one. If FedEx paid on anything damaged no matter how it was packaged, they would either soon be out of business or insurance would be very, very expensive.People would go into business just shipping...
Regulated Power Supply- what does it do/mean?
Your definition of fully regulated is correct. That brings up several considerations for a particular component 1. Does it use regulated supplies? Many don't. It is unusual to have regulated supplies in the output stages of power amps and many tub...
Have you tried "doping" your speaker cones?
My apologies for the hobby shop suggestion, looks like I may be the dope.
What do I do with a FedEx claim denial?
I am not a lwayer. But it looks to me like you are the "piece of work". You admit that it was not packaged properly and still expect FedEx to pay? How in the world do you come to the conclusion that FedEx is responsible for your inability to prope...
Help I got a big time Hum in my system
Do you have cable TV connected to it? If you do, disconnect and see if it goes away. If it does, search past threads on how to corect this problem.

WATT Puppy 6's are being discontinued...
At first glance it is easy to agree with Ezmaralda, but I agree with Jfrech. Most high end is a 60% business. So a $20,000 pair of speakers is $12,000 to the dealer. The dealer will discount them and has to cover his expenses so not a great deal i...
Have you tried "doping" your speaker cones?
The big problem I see with this is that it is not reversible. What do you do if it sounds worse? If the drivers are cheap it might be worth a try. You can get dope at your local hobby shop. Model airplane builders put it on the paper wings to make...
looking for inexpensive speaker spikes?
Go to the hardware store and buy some 1/4" x 20 bolts and nuts. Grind the heads of the bolts to a point. Be sure to wear your safety goggles. Screw the flat end into the sub and lock in place with the nuts. You can vary the taper of the point or t...
