Are my " diamond " tweeters really diamond
I have never heard any improvement in sound. I much prefer a nice soft dome tweeter. I may be old but those tweets that go way up in  the frequency range make me edgy and nervous. I think it is the distortion or break up at " inaudible frequencies...
KEF LS50 Wireless -- wow!!!
I don't have any curious children roaming around, but I've considered designing some grills for the LS50. The only real challenge will be method of attachment, but I might have that figured out. My concern is how they might affect the imaging.

^ It's marketing, pure and simple.
Full-sounding SS amps (besides Pass)
Yamaha's MOSFET based A-S1100/2100/3000.They have some tube-like bloom with great bottom end and realistic tone.
Best Cd player or Transport for $1000.00 used.
Go on fleaBay and find one of the old Panasonic ShockWave portable players (like a Discman). They're battery powered of course, so no transformer noise. These will work just as well as any uber-expensive transport and you'll save $1970 to $2970.
Mounting a Jelco Tonearm
I'd post this question on Audio Karma or Vinyl Engine, where there are larger DIY communities. I haven't mounted a Jelco, but have thoroughly read up on the process as it applies to Thorens tables. This is the first I've read of any discrepancies ...
Are my " diamond " tweeters really diamond
The idea of using synthetic diamond is to use an extremely stiff material so that the resonance/breakup frequency is raised up higher than human hearing. I believe the breakup frequency of diamond is around 70khz. I think beryllium could be around...
high-efficiency loudspeakers
I've found that a pair of recently acquired Klipsch Heresy IIIs are much better than I expected (not sure what I expected in my house, but I did force myself to listen to a pair at a dealer before before buying these damn things) and since many ha...
Throughly disappointed with my new Yamaha A-3000 Integrated.......
@elevick That's complete bull. It's not his speakers, he simply received a defective unit. Yamaha integrateds are 2 ohm stable.
Throughly disappointed with my new Yamaha A-3000 Integrated.......
The A-S3000 does seem to have a record of issues. Fortunately the 1100 and 2100 have better reliability. I doubt you'd lose much in sound quality by trading it for the A-S2100.
how do you compare the hegel h80 to rogue sphinx v2???
@jmlab926 I'm saying the Rogue hybrid amps (Sphinx and Pharaoh) struggle with the lowest octaves. It's as though they have a sharp roll-off under ~40 Hz. I don't know if it has to do with their class D topology, but I haven't experienced this issu...
how do you compare the hegel h80 to rogue sphinx v2???
Keep the Hegel. Rogue Class D amps have no low end, especially at low volume.
KEF LS50 Wireless -- wow!!!
Even the passive LS50s are leaps ahead of all B&W speakers I've heard. They  easily compete in the $4K standmount realm. Some say they're merely good, but I suspect they heard them with low quality amps. It's the trailing edges of notes, the "...
KEF and Paradigm
^^ The KEFs will NOT require 300 watts to open up in a room that size, despite their low nominal impedance. That’s a complete load of rubbish. Efficiency is a combination of sensitivity and impedance. The phase angles matter more than the nominal i...
Analog integrated amp recommendation
IME, the minimalist approach often pays zero dividends in sound quality
