Dynavector XV1-S and step-up
Lewm: thanks for the context. Just to clarify, I've been listening to my pre-amp for 2 years, so know it well. I just haven't explored SUTs (or external phonos, as the integrated phono is part of the attractiveness of the Shindo). Will listen to a ...
Dynavector XV1-S and step-up
Raul, thanks (I think). Just for fun, what phono stages are at the higher level to allow me to improve my "poor" phono in the Masetto. I'm honestly dying to know, as I'm very impressed with this phono. Perhaps it's a typo but you say "IMHO too" - ...
Dynavector XV1-S and step-up
Lewm: yes, original post talked about the MC a little, so thought I'd framed it properly - looking to optimize, not reinvent. Question is whether it's optimized for the Dynavector, hence the discussion and desire to see whether an SUT into the MM ...
Speakers for the ears, eyes, and for the decade
Hevac1: yes, see about 4 posts above, got the Sarastro IIs. Thx
Speakers for the ears, eyes, and for the decade
John: I currently run Stealth Hybrid MLTs, and have for a few years. I was recently listening to Shunyata Orions - very impressive cable. Thanks
Dynavector XV1-S and step-up
Thanks. Oddly enough, the MC input on my Shindo is:Phono MC(RCA Pin Jack ) Input Sensitivity/Impedance:0.2mV/2 -100Ω.Perhaps I should stop fiddling and just use the internal MC step up? I am curious to experiment with it though.Cincy_bob: any thou...
Dynavector XV1-S and step-up
Thanks guys - appreciate all this. Have to read the posts at least 2-3 times, but am starting to get it. Good education.
Dynavector XV1-S and step-up
Lewm, my technical understanding is cursory, but here are the details available:Shindo MM input: Pnono MM(RCA Pin Jack ) Input Sensitivity/Impedance:3mV/47KΩ.Dynavector: recommended load resistance of > 30 ohms; output voltage 0.3mV (at 1KHz, 5...
Speakers for the ears, eyes, and for the decade
Thanks all for your input. Decided to get the Verity Sarastro IIs and am very happy. They work very well with the Shindo gear, and are a very nice move from my Parsifals. Now I'm hunting for speaker cables that work well with the Sarastros.Cheers ...
Shindo Masseto Tubes and Fuses
Sbayne - don't think YG Lim means any disrespect - he's just exploring. I have not tried anything on my Masseto, but am curious about the various things you have tried...the footers/pc's/ICs. If you can, what did you try and what was the effect - ...

Some great ideas and feedback.Gawdbless - yes, lol, clearly meant to be apologetic for all the right reasonsScpetscott - but do you have a nice wood veneer with Italian lacquer? thanks - had a good laughGregm: checked out the Scala on-line, read t...

Michael,Thanks. Yes, I had a solid state amp before this Shindo. Again, my Shindos are the 80wpc version, so plenty of power to drive the speaker. In all honesty, the first thing I noticed (perhaps b/c I didn't expect to) was how much tighter and ...

Dpang233: what size room do you have, and do you use the Verity P/Es with the sub unit forward or backward facing? How far from the wall do you place them? Thanks for the input.
Verity
Sirspeedy - I like your thoughts. I do have a Definitive Audio supercube in my HT setup - maybe I'll play with that as a starting point. Here's a question from a true sub newbie: I have no "sub" out from my pre-amp (Shindo Masseto). How does one ho...
Verity
Hi. Thanks for the input. The Shindos are 80wpc and they enhance the bass versus my old solid state Levinson amp (75wpc). Sorry, I'm not suggesting Verity PEs are weak in the bass, just that it is where I feel these speakers can be better. I'm tal...
