Esoteric P03 - D03
Some Esoteric transports are slightly noisy. . . others in the same models are dead quiet. The mechanical whirring of the transport mechanism appears to have no bearing on the sound. At 350 hrs Esoteric gear barely starts to breathe. . . once you ...
PC for Rowland 312 and others?
Claude, yes all my components are plugged into the Furutech ETP-309. I have found no adverse effect plugging the Rowland Model 312 into this particular device. . . no reduction of micro/macro dynamics. Having said that, I will not generalize, and ...
New Rowland Criterion 2-chassis battery pre
All, here is a correction to information I have posted earlier, repeatedly. . . and ever incorrectly. . . apologies, my bad:The upcoming Model 625 will be a stereo amp, NOT a monoblock implementation. It will apparently be the companion piece for ...

Joseph, I do agree with you. The good news is that, as the Modewl 301 is still in production, your dealer can order for you a new unit with all the current updates. Besides that, the new JRDG amps are expected to become available before long. G.

Hi Joseph, apparently 301 underwent fairly substantive redesign since its introduction. Initially it was more similar to the 302 than 312. 302 is not my favorite amp by any stretch of the imagination. . . it lacks 'enthusiasm' for lack of a better...
New Rowland Criterion 2-chassis battery pre
Macro, did you mean. . .My kingdom for a 'source'..... (grins)But yes, JRDG parts and subassemblies are manufactured mostly by military contractors. Only final assembly is performed in house.

Joseph, I have not yet heard an amp in the power range and high damping rating of 312 that captured my emotions, combined with the sonic resolution and sheer power of Rowland 312. I have attended the last 4 RMAF shows and heard a very large number...

Sourcing? G.

Jpetek, recent JRDG Model 301 amps are a monoblock design, loosely similar to the JRDG Model 312 stereo that I own. Like the 312, the power supply is fed rectified high voltage DC by PFC units followed by capacitor buffers. One of the most interes...
Spectral 30SS preamp
I do not think it is a matter of you getting used to the new pre at all. . . but of the pre breaking in. Give it 800 hours of steady music making (or white noise making through an FM tuner), then decide if it is of your liking or not. New gear sou...
Esoteric P03 - D03
Eli, I have not tried any of the Esoteric wires yet. SR are not my preference. I have found that the Shunyata CX series King Cobra works wonderfully on my X-01 Limited, my Rowland Criterion and the Rowland Model 312 amp. . . King Cobra is a true g...
Bel Canto Ref1000 MK2 Or Ref 500m ?
Grazie mille Giuseppe. . . keep us posted as the BC Ref 1000M continue to break in. . . and of course everyone is very interested in your upcoming direct comparison with 500M. Saluti, Guido
Why Palladium in cables, wiring, etc. . .?
Hi Norm, superconductivity was discovered before our time. . . at least as early as 1908. I believe Mercury transitions to a solid phase quite readily. . . in any self respecting Northern winter for example: -38.83 °C, -37.89 °F. G.
Why Palladium in cables, wiring, etc. . .?
Norm, unfortunately Mercury becomes superconductive at 4.2 Kelvin, which is far below the boiling point of Nitrogen, but in fact is also the boiling point of Helium, not very much of a garden variety liquified gas that an audiophile would safely s...
Bel Canto Ref1000 MK2 Or Ref 500m ?
Giuseppe, bass of Bel Canto Ref 1K should start to come in after 400 hours of making music. Just powering them up without a signal going through may not be very effective. You can use the white noise from FM interstation to exercise them when you ...
