Class D amp wyred4sound and B&W 803D
Thank you Knghifi, very much appreciated. . . but. . . the captia mechanism on AC required for sending a msg is both currently broken, and it is EXTREMELY difficult to use with the screen reading software I use (JAWS). It seems to me that a manufa...

Mfsoa, What is DAC's phone number? Contact information for Digital Audio Company appears to be the World's best kept secret. . . their full address and phone number is neither on Audiogon, nor I was able to find it on the digitalamp.com web site. ...

Class D amp wyred4sound and B&W 803D
Not sure if 'tube-like' is particularly meaningful, as tubed component can exhibit just about any sound under the Sun. . . but if you mean "very musical". . . then the answer would be. . . definitely, some class D amps are indeed extremely musical...
Should power cords for power amps be shielded?
Pmboyd, I have tried this far 3 deliberately shielded or filtered wires on amps: Cardas Golden Ref (slightly warm with some stray intermodulation in the treble and gentle rise in the mid-lower bass), Shunyata Anaconda VX (removes very low level de...
Should power cords for power amps be shielded?
I do not believe there exists a set rule about shielding of power cords on any amps, one way or another. Personally, I have experienced the most desirable results on my SS class D Bel Canto Ref 1000M monoblocks and Rowland 312 stereo amp with the ...
Bi-amp with Bel Canto monos
Hi Coxhaus, the 1000m/500M combination makes a lot of sense. Beware that liking a particular amp of a given type, tubed, SS, or class D, does not tell you much about the general sound of a category, but only if the particular product you have sele...

Class D amp wyred4sound and B&W 803D
Dob brings up a very important point, class D amplification has undergone an incredible evolution during the last 10 years. Recent offerings of most class D manufacturers are significantly more musically satisfying than what was available just a f...
Jeff Rowland amp owners: What's your pre-amp??
With 'only' 5 years delay I rediscovered this thread.. . I am using a JRDG Model 312 stereo amp. I have driven it with the following fully balanced pres, in ascending order of preference. . . from lowest to highest:ARC Ref 3.JRDG Capri.JRDG Criter...
JRDG Capri vs. Parasound JC-1
Thank you Kijanki, my views on well-broken-in Capri pres are known. Yet, not having tried JC-2 myself, I suggest that JC-2 be given several hundred hours of playing time until it stabilizes, then contrasted with Capri. . . As for the end result, n...
Comparing the Ayre KXR and the Esoteric C-03
Hmmm, as you know I have only heard these 2 units in separate systems. . . my preference remains on the musicality of C-03. G.
Esoteric P03 - D03
Eli, Babybear's transport has been totally silent from day 1. A friend of ours has a noisy P-03 transport instead. Guido
Esoteric P03 - D03
Eli, I have an X-01. . . My friend babybear has P-03/D-03/G-0s. . . His transport is as quiet as a mouse. Guido
Esoteric P03 transport: noisy unit normal?
Eli, as already mentioned in the other thread, the whirring from some Esoteric units is entirely benign. . . it never converts into EM noise that intermodulates the signal. . . in other words, you never hear it from the speakers. If your transport...
