Rack Recommendations I must give credit where credit is due...Chris at Timbernation built me a beautiful custom rack from scratch to my measurements. He also stained the shelves to match my speakers. Not only does is look great but is incredibly sturdy. As for sound a...
Which Power Cord are you using with Parasound A21? Of all the cords I've tried over the last two years or so the Kimber Pk 10 Golds are my favorite for amps and power conditioners. The Pk 14 Golds excel for preamps and sources. Hands down the best tone and overall balance for either the 10s or 14s...
Quick poll: Rega RP6 or Marantz TT-15 ? Had the Marantz with the Virtuoso and now the Rega with an Ortofon MC cart. The RP6 is much better sound wise.
Is it speakers or my rock/metal music? Plus help ? I am an absolute cockroach with my musical tastes. To me it's about the music and my system must excel in all genres not just perfect recordings of audiophile tunes. The brand bashers often times have little to no specific experience with what the...
CD Player Recommendations for Dynaudio speakers Why not another Meridian? I have owned the 808.2 and now the 808.3, they are superb!
More pops and clicks with groovetracer subplatter? Hi, I have the same TT with the GT. It is a big upgrade that improves everything and lowers the noise. As a result of the lower noise it also reveals the pops and clicks on some records. I can't find fault with the GT for this, instead I've become...
Benefits of dedicated lines for amp performance Oh yes a power conditioner will improve things by reducing the line noise even further.
Power Cords: A Skeptic Looking to Dabble... At $150 and under I will second the Shunyata Venom 3. The Venoms are easy to find used and sell easily if you don't like them. I also agree that plugging your amp into the wall is better. If you don't have dedicated lines I would look into getting...
Power cord suggestions? Can't comment on Cary synergy but both cables are excellent. Now using Vipers on amps and Kimber PK10 Gold on CDP. Kimbers may be a touch warmer than the Vipers. The Vipers might be a tad quieter on source components direct from the wall. Through ...

cd player preamp combo into a stand alone preamp When I had an 808.2 I experimented running the variable output into my amps. At first it seemed more detailed and transparent but in the end not so. It did sound good without a preamp but lacked body, was not as great at imagining, and tonality wa...
Viper Zitron versus MIT Oracle AClll I have tried a few other respected brands, (not MIT), with good results. After trying the Shunyata cords from the lower levels until the Zitrons there is no need to try any other.
Viper Zitron versus MIT Oracle AClll I'm using a pair of Vipers as we speak. They are intended for my preamp and CDP and have excelled, but could not resist trying them for amp duty. They are just as good with a higher load as with the lower. Super low noise floor with great focus fr...
Lovan audio racks....and other racks..... I'm a big believer in credit where credit is due, Chris at Timbernation is a TRUE craftsman. I talked to him slightly over a week ago about a custom rack built from scratch and now ten days later its in my room and its just gorgeous. I have never ...
Levinson 326s or McIntosh C200 ? I had a C100 for over 14 years and loved it. They say sound wise the C200 is identical but has HT bypass. My C100 was very quiet, detailed, full bodied, and sounded fantastic at low levels. No doubt the C200 would be the same or even better. |
