Paying taxes/duty on used goods purchased in Canada
I bought a Rega table, made in England, and the seller shipped to me unknowing of the fee.   When UPS delivered it I owed $45.   Not sure how it was assessed but it seems Fedex and UPS charge the fee.  With the CAD to USD exchange rate good deals ...
Warm sounding power cord for for CD player to suppress digital glare on vocals.
As some have said that adjusting in one area sacrifices SQ in other areas, I agree.  The only solution I came up with was to have a second CDP tuned a little warmer.

Oops...table was a Canada to US deal.

Had to pay UPS a "brokerage fee" of $45 on a $1750 TT but no duties.  Not sure how they calculated fee.
Zerostat near cartridge?
Gun is around 7:30-8:00 pointing inline with grooves away from cart at 45 degrees.  I give the gun 2-3 slow cycles with record spinning.
Zerostat near cartridge?
I leave the tone arm on the rest and hold gun 4-5" away, pointing away from arm. This being done with everything powered on.
Zerostat near cartridge?
I put the record on platter and let it spin.  While spinning I point gun away from cart on to record while using a brush with other hand, no problems.   They say you can Zerostat the cart but make sure amp and pre are powered down.

Hi Harrry, love the ring clamp you sold me on eBay.  How's about listing over here with your next batch of goodies.  Merry Christmas.
Phono cable question
You can use the Cardas but make sure and run a ground wire from the table to your pre or there will be a hum.

VPI Tables and Dr. Feikert Software: Any Experience
I have a Foz and think it works well with my Classic Sig.  There is a recent thread over at AA that may help you decide if it will work for you.
Phono cable - necessary?
Currently using plain old Audioquest RCAs with a generic ground wire on a Classic.  Had previously even went as far as two meters hooked to barrel connectors from a Rega table.  YMMV.
Where did you sink the most cash into?
Speakers and amps, preamp, sources, cabling, power cond, and power cords.
Why are people always getting into pissing matches because they think what they have is better
What's even better is when it's about two brands that the antagonist has little to no experience with.
