used CDP recommendation for use as transport
Any model that uses their "cdm-14" or higher. As you say, many models around -- 300/330/90/900/ etc. Sorry I can;t be more specific. As a transport mechanism, however, the Teac is probably a slightly better tool. They're rugged but don't offer spar...
Best Sonus Faber for 16 sq room. ?
Maybe place the spikes on small platforms that sides on the carpet and the carpet working as a vibration killerThe speakers should be firm on the floor. Bass frequencies are not absorbed by a carpet -- they can go right through.
used CDP recommendation for use as transport
Other than Duke's suggestion above, another cdp usable as transport is any Teac with "vrds" mechanism (you see this marketed on the front panel of their cdps. Most of their cdps have this, no sweat).Either use their digital out or solder the outpu...
Can you imagine a world without vinyl?
As I use vinyl (i.e. I listen to vinyl as well as the many digital formats) I wouldn't really want a world without it:)Anyway, I grew up buying vinyl...Of course things are volatile and vinyl users are very much dependant on continued availability...
ASR Basis Exclusive Phono stage
Well, I used it for a while. It's very versatile in that both gain and resistive loading are accessible from inside (so you have to keep the lid unscrewed for a while). The phono operates well and its curve is OK. It's a bit bulky, but you can con...
Opportunity to buy the best Preamp... but which?
Mike -- the Dart was similar to the FM in the mid to upper mid range. In the high frequencies, the FM showed more energy. Note that where details of the music were concerned, the Dart did not require you to "strain your ears" i.e. the Dart+Dart wa...
What's the frequency response of vinyl?
Ball park figure: ~22Hz - 26kHz. How far you go in actually retrieving this bandwidth and reproducing it -- assuming it's embedded in the grooves in the first place -- is another matter.
ASR Basis Exclusive Phono stage
Yes, it's a good phono. What would you like to know?
Anyone familiar with the Manger driver?
I hope you test on open baffle and measure below or at 30ms.Of course, without interpolating passive components. Since you're using a generator, limit the bandwidth if necessary.
Making High End Clones at Home for Fun and Savings
I meant the Xover, thanks for clarifying. But your suggestion for the "full system" still takes the prize!
Einstein "The Turntable's Choice " phonostage
Cy_endo, the FM is more expensive than the Einstein (also better imo/ I'm referring to the se versions --not balanced).

Eldartford:your best bet is to biamp using an electronic crossover that is easily reconfigured for frequency and slopesI couldn't agree more. I would recommend this in the strongest terms for anyone wanting to take up speakers as a hobby. For exam...
Is 5 Watts enough for Horns ?
The guy I bought the deHavilland gear from had the faceplates of the mono amps & preamp goldplated at a plating shop. He had an oversized volume knob machined at a machine shop. The volume knob & source selectorknob are also gold platedNow...
Gunk will not clean off LP ?
Thanks Eldartford

Lonestarblues: no doubt, 3,5W sound OK on yr COrnwalls. BUT, try 20W capability and listen to orchestral music -- and I think you'll be surprised. You've modded those Cornwalls I assume (nice spkrs)?
