TRL Dude or Joule 150 MKII for Major Pre Upgrade
Ok, did one additional measurement per the instruction Jognsonwu above.I measured the ohms reading from the RCA center to each of the eight 6sn7 socket pin numbers.I did this to check the input grid stop resistor. This grid dropper resistor is used...

Atmasphere,What about the fact that a Passive Lightspeed pre, cd players and a Bel Canto pre with average to low output impedances caused the same buzz with this amp? Does this rule out the high preamp output impedance theory into the Atlas?
Is there any truth to this question?
Regardless of the speaker's sensitivity I have found not driving your amp too hard and having more power and headroom available is a very good thing. In my current rig a highly touted 70 watt tube amp was displaced by a Hybrid amp with 4 times the...
Does listening fatigue go away???
I have been at this audio thing for 35 years and don't think it is the digital thing. It is system synergy and your unique set of ears. No, it won't just go away if you change nothing. Sorry.....I use a digital front end and no trace of fatigue wi...
Dont laugh
I am crying!

Vett93 summed it up very well. My speaker and other cables really did not change position. My speaker cables are simply solid core copper runs and very straight forward. Changing power or ic cable brands did nothing to change the hum.

I found a bunch of unused RCA cables and connected the ground and center wires to short the jacks. I places these on my 3 sets of unused preamp inputs. Still have the buzz. Still think this may be a good idea however.

Thanks Al. I just inserted two shorted RCA jacks on the unused crossover inputs on the amp. Still have the buzz however.Wonder if my extra preamp inputs should be shorted?
Possible impedance matching issue with subwoofer?
Wanted to update folks on my progress. Well I have two subs now hooked up to my system. I have a/b'd the sound with and without the subs. When I turn the subs off I also remove the ic's from my preamp to compare the sound. No loss of highs. No loss...

I just read this in my Aesthetix Atlas's manual. " each channel is a balanced bridge amplifier, thus the negative speaker terminal is not a ground, and cannot be connected to a system ground or loudspeaker system with a common ground. Consult your...

Correct, passive speaker. I ha!ve been working with Vett93 and he has stepped me through all kinds of tests. Thank you for being so patient with me! Through it all I still have the same buzz out of both speakers. The buzz is not present under thre...
Preamp Noob has a question
Good choices here. I must tell you the Bel Canto Pre 3 is exactly what you want. It will do what you want and can be had for $1000. Very transparent and open. The remote is a joy to use and it also sounds smooth and sweet.
Is the Squeezebox Touch complicated?
Easy and I love it. I use Pandora and Spotify and could not be more happy. Never an issue and fun to the max. Spotify is like TV cable, but for music. I pay just over $10 month to play most any album that has been released anytime I want. Wow!

My CD player is grounded to the chassis by the power cord middle pin. I did hook it up directly to the amp and still get a buzz out of both speakers. I will try the amp in another system tonight to see what happens.Maybe a power conditioner?
Possible impedance matching issue with subwoofer?
Koestner, I have only seen these placed between the preamp and cd or dac. Can it be placed between my preamp and sub amps and work fine?I assume the second set of preamp outs go into the x10 inputs and then I output to the sub's plate amps right? ...
