Where are Conicident Speaker Technology electronics made ? Perhaps some of us Aphiles with our own unique set of personality flaws are enough to make any great designer a tad bit grumpy at times. Seems reasonable and likely 🙂
Tidal WiFi not as good as cd Oh my, everything matters in digital audio front ends. Everything. It all makes a sonic difference from ethernet cables to LAN switches to DC power supplies and on and on....We are dealing with many things including noise and timing issues.
Spica Angelus That Idecco is fine. I saw a Nova 125SE for $575 on Audio Mart. Also good. I run tubes and the Peachtree on my TC50s and find the Peachtree a better match. Your Angelus are a tad easier to drive than my 50s however. I still think the Peachtree ...
Spica Angelus I own the TC50s. I upgraded them pretty dramatically...see my virtual systems. The Spica line likes power. They seem to really match well with nice Class D amps. Peachtree Nova 150 or 300 are a great match for this brand of speakers. They come al...
The Frankensteining of Amplifiers There is more than one way to great sound. Buying and selling is not for me anymore. Far too much hassle and cost. Those of us with solid DIY skills and experience know how greatly we can improve upon a nice sounding piece of gear. We know becaus...
The Frankensteining of Amplifiers No worries PC is a known and good modifier. Parts were not replaced willy nilly. The unit will sound better than stock. Well done and thought out upgrades always improve the sound of gear. The original units didn't use these better parts as they h...
Head-ups for fans of AricAudio designs. His new Super 211 SET two chassis amplifier Too early for pics on the site it seems. Love to see pics inside the chassis as few amps today are point to point wired. Most are circuit boards. I much prefer the sound and build quality of real point to point built tube gear. Many are works of a...
Head-ups for fans of AricAudio designs. His new Super 211 SET two chassis amplifier Sounds like a wonderful tube amp. Will go to your site and find some pics!
Tidal WiFi not as good as cd Tidal sounds slightly better than CDs for the most part on my rig. This is completely system dependent. I have an Innuos Zen 3 server and Sotm Switch and Ethernet cables. Again, the answer to this question is 100% system dependent. Meaning what y...
Speaker Break In...? Or listener “Break In”? Crossover parts need time to break in. Caps and resistors can take up to 300-400 hours to settle in. This is particularly true of the large value paper in oil/wax types that change sonically quite severely. Break in can also be like a roller coast...
I went to THE show and didn't make any friends ... Erik, good post here and interesting topic. Please keep them coming. @bigkidz usually posts interesting and informative stuff and this last one seems out of character based on his history here.
VIBORG power cords The connectors are decent and really a great value for so little money. I have found many of these very inexpensive connectors from China to be of good overall quality. I am not sure the same can be said for the bulk wire/cable.
Duelund DCA16GA Thanks for the update. Your crossover caps can take 300 hours to settle in depending on the type. Large paper in oil/wax types can take up to 500 hours and the road is bumpy! Great you are improving your rig with DIY skills! Great satisfaction an...
Duelund DCA16GA Yep it takes about 100 hours. 12 gauge a tad longer and 16 gauge you are all but there after 75 hours. But they never sound as bad as I read in his statement... never. Especially the ICs made with the 16 gauge. Wonder how they were built? Soldered...
Duelund DCA16GA Only takes 75-100 hours. Sounds like something else is wrong to be frank based on the severity of your outlying comments. |
