Joseph Audio Pearls?
I believe the Pearls were in the VPI/VAS room in a 3 channel setup.
Joseph Audio Pearls?
Photon---I believe that you are thinking of the Pulsar. The Pearl 3's are the big floorstanders from Joseph.***Joseph dealer disclaimer***
I heard Emotive bought Bob Carvers tube company
I wander if they will switch Carver over to a direct sells model like Emotiva?
ear acute
I would also love to know this. Currently working a deal to trade for an Acute and so far, I have not seen a way to really tell the difference b/t the first gen and the second gen. The 3rd does have the digital inputs.
confused about Bel Canto Products
Couple of quick points...~You do not have to use the VBS1 to power the 3.5 or CD2. You can also opt for the LNS1 at a lower price. And the CD2 comes with a standard power supply.~You could also go for the CD3t as a transport, instead of the CD2 to...
Looking for a DAC
Since you like the Cary, they have 2 new DACS getting ready to hit the market in the next couple of weeks. 100 (solid state) and 100t (tube) models.I would imagine these would be great for you (although not sure of your budget).*** Cary dealer dis...
Speaker recommendations, budget $10-15K
I've had a few different customers in the past 3 or 4 months looking at similar speakers at your price point (Epicon/7T/ etc). I would add the Joseph Audio Perspective to your list.If your purely looking for more bottom end, then the Dali's may be...
Decent DAC with Real Remote
The Bel Canto DACs (1.5, 2.5, 3.5) allow you to use their remote to pick specific inputs (via the number buttons).***Bel Canto dealer disclaimer***
Rogue's new Sphinx integrated. Anyone audition it?
I would say that it's very musical. Nice detail, good bottom end. I'm still working on getting a full break-in of the demo, but so far, the soundstage is very nice also.I really like the Hydra/Medusa amps, so I sort of figured this (and the upcomi...
Choosing a Floorstander by Footprint Size
Tannoy DC4T should work for you. Size is about perfect for what you are looking for. Also, not sure of the exact size, but I believe the Totem Arros (and perhaps the Staff) may fit.*Tannoy dealer disclaimer*
Rogue's new Sphinx integrated. Anyone audition it?
I have a demo unit here and am quite impressed with it. If you had the chance to hear the Hydra or Medusa amps from Rogue, the sonic similarities are evident.I consider it a pretty amazing value at the price. ***Rogue Dealer Disclaimer***
Home Theater Noob Looking to Upgrade
Do you have a budget for your speaker purchase?More then likely, the 85 watts you have is more then enough (depends a little on what speakers you end up with however)
New DAC: TEAC UD-501 anyone listen yet?
Looking at Analogshop's facebook page, it appears he is playing the files via a Mac laptop.I belive that Teac has a DSD transport to go along with the new Dac (at least they are showing one on the Teac webpage).
Turntable setup under $2000?

Tube amp recommendation for Maggie MMG
I have sold a few Rogue Cronus Magnums to customers that had the 1.7 Maggies. Each of those customers enjoyed the sound quite a bit. Perhaps you could look for a used Rogue Atlas Magnum?
