Tact 2.0 Software help
Tact is very helpful when you call them. They always answer the phone during business hours, and are very patient in explaining things. You can also ask them by email. I learned the 2.0 software by trial and error, but now have the 2.2x. The softw...
Something looks weird about this auctions?
Here is the latest list of alias usernames posting bogus ads or feedback on Audioweb:nattscdavidoikevinpcdanres99mikegusttimwrrobcilibertimarchim - ripped off someone already, and may have already been deleted shadihannafrumosu - may have been del...
Something looks weird about this auctions?
These guys generally don't know much about high-end audio. That's why they copy the ads. The other thing they do is use a picture of the back of an amplifier....and nothing else. How many real audiophiles would only put up a picture of the back of...
Something looks weird about this auctions?
Thanks for the listings. These guys use stolen credit card numbers to place the ads. The guy who owns the credit card probably lives in the UK, and they had to use his location to get the card number to clear. They will ask that the money be sent ...
Recommend Higher Power SET Amp
I second the KR Antares. I and two friends own them. They are very good, and a super value. If you have more money, the Wavac MD572 is a 50 watter that is remarkable.
Best transport for TacT 2.2 ?
Also, just for clarification, it will do analog in and analog out, if you have that option. Tact did a weird thing with the names of their products. The 2.2 was their first room correction system / pre-amp / dac. They quit making it and started pr...
Best transport for TacT 2.2 ?
I'm sure they would fix it if it broke. What I mean't by not supporting it (their words, not mine) was that they are not doing updates to the software or hardware. That unit is digital in and analog out only. The DACs are 44.k (not sure if they ar...
consensus on passive preamps?
I owned a Silver Rock Passive with the 0db gain. They also make one with 6db gain. It uses a completely silver wired transfomer / potentiometer. I've had other passives, and I agree with most of the comments here regarding the drawbacks of passive...
Hi: I am looking at silverline Lafolia
I owned a pair of La Folias. They have a very transparent sound, huge soundstage, powerful bass, great mids. Highs and upper mids can be a bit hard with the wrong amp. They can be ruthlessly revealing, but are great with the right stuff. I like th...
Fraud alert Fair warning to Audiogoners.
These guys are now using Lycos email addresses as well. They are now asking for half now (by Western Union or money order), and half later. Shipping charges will sometimes be ridiculously low. Example - a 43 inch Toshiba rear projection TV shipped...
Fraud alert Fair warning to Audiogoners.
They have found their way to Audioshopper. Check out http://audioshopper.com/cgi-bin/classifieds.asp?action=showad&id=63658. Same email as "afrank" on Audioweb (Kbambus@yahoo.com). He moved to Audioshopper because his membership was revoked fr...
Fraud alert Fair warning to Audiogoners.
More to the purpose of this thread, if anyone has become a victim already, and don't wish to send the information to me, at least notify the FBI at www.ifccfbi.gov. If you would also cross reference your complaint to the original complaint # I0203...
Fraud alert Fair warning to Audiogoners.
First of all, the information given was not meant for prosection, only as a warning to consumers. It is not necessary for you to receive a case ready for prosecution to take precautions in purchases made on the internet. If you choose to ignore th...
Fraud alert Fair warning to Audiogoners.
Names or user handles used so far by this fraud ring are: mickeykaiser, davidknight, johnbrighton, afrank, dave2k, robertshef, johnbroughton, angelo_calic, andrewsmith. Also the email stophatin11@aol.com (cryptic message?). Most of these aliases u...
Fraud alert Fair warning to Audiogoners.
Further info: They are copying ads from real sellers on Audiogon, and posting fraudulent ads on Audioweb. These ads are copied verbatim including pictures. I have emailed most of the persons affected, but recent postings have occurred since then.
