DCS Verdi Elgar Purcell VS. Audio Aero Capitole
I recently sent my DCS gear in for the upgrade. My experience with DCS and Audiophile Systems is the opposite of Jonathan's....they offer terrific customer service. I know that the DCS gear was quite a bit better than the Accuphase DP75V I had bef...
$4500 amp beat out the Tenor OTL in the latest TAS
There was already some info out there on this amp before HP made his revelation. Refer to http://www.high-endaudio.com/RC-Amplifiers.html - bottom of the page. There is also some negative info on Tenor amps on this same page. Israel Blume likes th...
dump DACS
If you're talking about a 2.2, that was Tact's first attempt at an RCS DAC pre, and it's an antiquated model. There is no comparison between the 2.2 and the 2.0 or 2.2X.
dump DACS
In a word, no. I just sold my Tact 2.2X. Why? I compared it to an Accuphase DP75V. The DAC in the Tact is not exactly world class, but achieves a great level of enhanced performance from the RCS and going straight out into your amp. But the Accuph...
David Berning "Holy Grail" 45 SE ZOTL now exists
Very interesting concept. What about power output? How long does the battery last, and what are you doing to re-charge it?

TBG-Are you using a pre-amp with your Lindemann? It is my understanding that the Lindemann has variable analog outputs.
Need advice for CDP selection
I have read some threads and a review that complained about the clearly audible whine from the CD mechanism on the Opus. Any comments about this from Opus owners?
Preamp better than Cortese?
Good for Mick! Small manufacturers need to be mindful of their reputations, and the damage one or two bad products can cause to them if allowed to make their way through the audio community. I just wish I would have had the chance to hear a good o...
Preamp better than Cortese?
Wow! That's a real bombshell, Brian. You're saying that Mick sold an obviously defective product on A'gon, knowing that it was improperly manufactured (by himself)? That doesn't represent his product very well. "Horribly malfunctioning and miswire...
HMS TPO MATCH cables
If you read my post, you saw that I am using a passive pre (Silver Rock). It still depends on the equipment. The Soundstage reviewer didn't evaluate these cables properly by not substituting different components. That's the real value of these cab...
Help with ESP Concert Grands
Hi Bob!Careful with these. Our mutual acquaintance Jeffga has owned them. The drivers are not user replacable, and the speakers cost a fortune to ship because of their size. One pair was going for $1500. not long ago, but required p/u in NY city. ...

Silverline Lafolia vs Coincident Total E
I've owned both.I had the earlier version of the La Folia which used a different bass driver than the current model. The La Folia is a more detailed speaker in the mids and highs with a deeper, more powerful bass. Could be that their rear firing 1...
HMS TPO MATCH cables
I absolutely notice a difference in all of the Top Match cables that I have (power, interconnect, speaker) using the different settings. Using the interconnects, you can hear the soundstage change dramatically. Having gone through a few amps since...

Second the Accuphase DP75V. I've had or heard many of the above. The Accuphase is in another league. NO other digital that I've heard in the used price range ($5000) gives you the spacial information of the Accuphase. It is the only digital produc...
