Anyone heard the KR Enterprise Antares???? Kind of an old thread, but for the record, I just bought an Antares. It is a 30 watt SET using the KR300BLX tube. I bought this amp because I am intrigued by the potential of an amplifier designed by the same maker and designer of the tube it uses...
Anyone have honest opinion of Jolida amps? Trelja: I think you are overcomplicating the issue of feedback. What it does mean is that you have owned, bought, or sold a lot of equipment, gear, whatever. It doesn't mean you're an expert, but when it comes to equipment comparisons and opinion,...
How do Newforms sound? I had Module 30s used with a sub. I really liked them. I compared them to my Merlins VSM-Ms and Green Mountain 1.5s. They offer excellent value, and come amazingly close to these much more expensive speakers. The 30" ribbon was a bit phasey, and t...
Anyone have honest opinion of Jolida amps? Tweekerman: Jolida probably sells three times as many products in the US as any of the brands you mentioned put together. The fact that so many have been put up for sale more likely has to do with quantity, and the fact that Jolida is a stepping s...
Anyone have honest opinion of Jolida amps? I have a lot of amps at the moment....Musical Fidelity, Bel Canto, Joule Electra, and a Jolida 302B. These Jolida amps are killer for the money. They don't have the build quality of the more expensive stuff, but the sound is about 85% of what the ...
100w tube vs ss for Mag 3.6s I agree with Scubadaddy123 (maybe it's because we're both divers). I have Maggie 1.6s in a second system. They need current and bottom end control that you won't find with tubes. I'm a tube guy, by the way. These are just very demanding speakers. ...
Why is the turnover on maggies 1.6QR so much? All of the posts above are correct. There are several reasons for this. There are a lot of them out there. Because of their low price and high performance, I think many people use these as a stepping stone to higher end products. I personally am w...
Is AT&T a Good digital cable connection ? It seems each manufacturer has there own preference for digital connections. Perhaps it is in the design of the DAC or transport that makes one connection inherently better than another in certain gear. EAD always used to recommend AT&T glass....
Hotrod your Hermes You would probably get better redbook playback using the non-SACD separates. Depends on your priorities and CD collection. I won't consider SACD for two reasons at the moment...very limited software and my huge redbook CD collection.
Hotrod your Hermes I use the Altis CDT3, which is superb.
Hotrod your Hermes Thanks for the info, John! I use the P1A with mine....works very well.
Hotrod your Hermes Okay, just one more tweak, BLUE LEDs!!! God Joe, do something to get Kora to change those ugly, butterscotch yellow LEDs. Jerry at Audio Magic changed mine to blue and they are WAY COOL!!! And they sound so much better than the blue ones:).
Cheap tweaks...What would YOU reccomend? Speaker drivers sometimes work themselves loose. Make sure the screws around the drivers are tight. I've even received new speakers that have loose screws, but it's more common with used speakers I've purchased.
Talon Khorus with no soundstage? You should trust your ears, but also the opinion of people who have experience in owning this speaker, and have witnessed the changes that break-in time makes. I didn't hear them at a show or in a showroom somewhere. I owned them for about a year,...
Audio Magic Stealth pc experiences. I agree. While owning a PS Audio 300 and a 600, I compared those to the CFX. Big difference in openess and dynamics in favor of the CFX. Sold the PS Audios and bought the CFX. Then I tried the Stealths. Almost as much difference between the Stealt... |
