Von Schweikert VR 4 jr. Worth upgrading to MKII? Just out of interest would like to know myself, however I love my Jr,s so much as they are, I could not imagine an upgrade being worth the money. For that extra money, I think spending it on a fast subwoofer, even if it were not a VSA unit would g...
Your thoughts on preamp/processors Just a thought on making the wife and kids happy. For the sake of the others in the household. Hook gear such as dvd player both to the TV and into your processors. Easy for the family to just use dvd hooked directly into AV input on TV. They won'...
Review: Conrad Johnson CA200 Amplifier Thanks for your thoughts on the CJ. It ain't tubes but is very nice indeed.
Moving away from tubes. Is this a good idea? You no doubt could have a SS amp and be happy. But having tubes really are not the hassle some believe them to be. Go for the tubes at least once in your life, you may never go back.
VonSchweikert VR4JR vs Magenpan MG 1.6 You have and are considering the two speakers IMO are the way best for the money. In my case I was all set to buy the maggies, then came across the jr's. Went with the VSA. Had the sparkle of the maggies, while yet giving me the low end as well. B...

My VR4SR MK2's.......now I get it Congrats first on your choice of speakers from the jr's to the sr's. Your speakers are truly musical. Enjoy them. Happy listening. Glen
Von Schweikert VR4 JR and Krell 400xi? Having a pair of the VR4 JRs. I can only say if you have a chance to own a pair go for it. Whether SS or tube I love them. You may well find yourself wanting to keep the speakers long after you may want to try various other amps.Glen. happy listen...
Black Gospel With Good Sound There are of course many more, I could think of, but to name just three I am currently revisiting. Donnie McClurkin "Live from London". Rodnie Bryant and the Christian Mass Choir, "He's a Keepa". And Bishop Ronald E Brown, "Live Having a Good Old ...
VTL ST-150 w/ B&W Asked a question on another post of yours. This one answered my questions on your thoughts on the VTL gear. Thanks. Glen
How Much Is Too Much? We all go thru seasons in life. In my early years that little portable radio was the best I could afford and I loved it. Played loud it sounded distorted, but I was jammin. Now much better system, and at times it is nice to play it loudly without ...
Anything better than Magnepan 1.6? Have loved the Maggies 1.6 for years, I think they are the best value in their line up as well. I was all set to buy a pair until I happened to hear VSA JR4's. All a matter of taste of course but they gave me the air and speed of the Maggies with ...
