No escrow?
Excellent advice from those above..I use paypal with my credit card. The credit card company will go to bat for you if need be. And paypal can at least provide tracking information. At least to some degree. Check feedback from buyer or seller on t...
Man Cave or No?
To have a nice system and having your mate to listen with you from time to time ain't bad at all. When I built my "man cave", I did find myself becoming more disconnected from the wife and kids. Kids grow up so very fast and the wife,I would want ...
Should repaired equipment be stated in the ad??
Should I sell my car, I would not hide the number of miles or the vechicle, nor would I if the stereo gear was repaired. Besides, for some, repaired gear, rated properly may have a higher value. In that there may be less of a problem in the future...

KEF 103/4 loudspeakers; any comments
Good to hear you are enjoying your Kef's 103'4s. They are one of the few pair of speakers, that I really wish I had from back in the day.
question about breaking in speakers and amp
Was never one to buy into the "break in period" needed for gear, until I had a chance to hear new mono tube amps, which should have blown my integrated away. It was not even close, returned back to the dealer whom kept them on a few days later... ...
tube integrated amp recommendations?
The SQ-88, 55 watt integrated may be worth a look. Remote control of the volume, three inputs. Self bias. Very well put together. More info can be found at Quest for Sound. Fun hunting.
HTIB????
Just thinking a little out of the box..so to speak. You might consider not getting a full HTIB with the five speakers and a sub. But something like the Cambridge Soundworks i765. It has dvd player, ipod hook up etc, with speakers all in one box. So...
wow first tube amp
Check the bias for sure, but tubes can run a little warm. Congrats on the journey into the world of the "Glow". I have a SQ-88 integrated which will bias itself, and it is a slice of musical heaven.
AT150MLX cart + Cambridge Audio 640P Phono Stage
Veery interesting. Recently I picked up the 640P and bought my old Technices 1300 out of moth balls. Be it hooked up to my SS or tube integrated very nice sounding. My old records still make beautiful music. Good to read your comments on a possibl...
Equipment that has made you 'stop' looking?
The Von Schweikert MK4jrs. They should take me all the way for my sons going into and than out of college.
Please help me decide.
Wait and get what you really want. The difference in the size at least between the two old sets, not that big of a deal. Prices are dropping all the more on the newer tech sets.
Cambridge Audio or Outlaw Audio?
Not familiar with the Outlaw, though the one review of the stereo unit I read awhile back was quite good. Having said that, I just pick up a Cambridge 540R. Sounds good and built like tank. But moreover my choice especially for a second system wou...
Does a Postal Money order need to "clear"?
Narrod is right, they can be faked. Now days, one should wait for any and all checks to clear.
