EMM DCC2 vs Hi End Preamps Hooper, must dissent from your post. At least with the Messenger, there is an increase in information, clarity, and bass punch.
EMM DCC2 vs Hi End Preamps I'm using the Messenger preamp. A tube preamp is essential to put flesh on the notes. I felt the DCC2 preamp lacks body, but it is neutral, quiet, and smooth. Nothing to sneeze at.
VPI HR-X, Super Scoutmaster and Acrylic Platters I disagree. I had the TNT Hot Rod V, then went to the HR-X. It's in a different league. It has tremendous bass and a more extended high end. For it's price, hard to beat. The next level of turntable is SME 30, etc.
Will Maggie 3.6 or 20.1's work in a 121/2 X 21 Rm The 3.6 is better suited if you are looking to go the Magnepan route.
New Air Suspension Footers for VPI TNT Yes, it's critical to be able to level it properly. In fact the screwjack makes it possible, I think, to align about as precisely as theoretically possible, in contrast to the air bladders, which were inherently more imprecise.
New Air Suspension Footers for VPI TNT The truth is that the whole suspension could still be reworked. I don't think the bulky, black plastic feet are ideal. In any case: all you need are the balls and the cup that holds them.
New Air Suspension Footers for VPI TNT HR-X owners will not need to buy the feet.
Jena Labs Model One Fundamental Power Cords Has anyone noticed breakin with the cords?
New Air Suspension Footers for VPI TNT I didn't notice any downsides. In any case, the firestone plugs contain a lot of metal and other parts that must be resonating.
New Air Suspension Footers for VPI TNT VPI is coming out with some black plugs for the holes. It would be better if they simply eliminated the silver towers...but that would require attacking the plinth.
New Air Suspension Footers for VPI TNT Nope, you need the little support base that screws into the plastic foot. The ball rests in this cup-like device that screws into the foot. Just call VPI to obtain it.
New Air Suspension Footers for VPI TNT I put in the balls on the HR-X. They work--more dynamic, snappier, better controlled bass.
McIntosh 501 or 602 for Magnepan 20.1 I rebuilt the crossover and combined the internal and external and eliminated numerous connections. My reservation about active is that the only one that might be good enough is the Pass, costs $6,000, and I still wonder if it isn't as good as my ...
McIntosh 501 or 602 for Magnepan 20.1 I meant Classe Omicron or Omega MK 1--they're available for 5-6,000,On my 20.1s, I went from Omicron MK to the mono pairs you mention. Yes, the monos are better, but the originals are not that far off.
Amazing ''Overachieving'' products...your pick? Radio Shack demagnetizer. Crushes the Bedini, and is faster and cheaper. |
