What songs do you never get tired of?
I just re-read this whole thread. "Thanks", Frenchfries. You started a great thread. I read the responses and realize I ain't as alone as it might seem.
jolida 502b manual bias adjustment
oh...ok - gotcha - I picked up an inexpensive multimeter from Sears. Probes are 4-5" long or so. It does take a little care to get a stable connection and when moving them, but again - no burns yet (famous last words).
jolida 502b manual bias adjustment
I own the JoLida 502B. It was my first introduction to tubes. It is manual bias. Just use a long handled screwdriver...haven't burned myself yet. A 5 minute job at most.
Pat Metheny Fans, Great Suggestions Please ??
2 not mentioned so far, "Letter from Home" and "The Road to You" (live). Both are "signature" Metheny recordings. I first saw Pat and company at the McCarter (sp?) Theater in Princeton NJ when "As Falls Witchita..." came out. It was a magical show...
Getting off the merry-go-round – AFRAID TO???
Shadorne - wow...I guess I missed your point. Were you being ironic? All those big names...do they listen to the same stuff? If so, what is it? ... not that I'd be able to afford it or frankly feel any compulsion to do so.
It was 40 years ago today.....
If you have not read it, a suggestion:The Complete Beatles Recording Sessions - The Official Story of the Abbey Road years 1962 - 1970 by Mark Lewisohn. Coypright 1988 EMI Records, Ltd. Originally published in 1988 by Hamlyn. SPLHCB was a watershe...
Buying Someone's Records: An Ethics Question
Jeffrebowman2k - Great decision. Good for you! Congratulations. I loved Classicjazz' statement, "economic gain is not the sole criterion by which one marks his time in this world."
Buying Someone's Records: An Ethics Question
Wow - great question...similar thread posted earlier by someone buying audio equipment (Linn table, I think). What if everyone on this planet evaluated situations on the basis of, "treat your neighbor as yourself"? If you were in the old dude's si...
Who's Your Favorite Bass Players; Why?
Jack Bruce. Went through all the posts...maybe 2 or 3 votes for Jack Bruce. Add mine to that sadly paltry number. Amazing interplay with Ginger on live cuts as on Cream's "Goodbye" and "Wheels of Fire". Melodic, rhythmic, imaginative. Not to take ...
I remember Jesse Penna today
We salute you, brothers. May the Lord have mercy on your souls. Thanks to all of you.
One's trash is someone else's treasure
PS - amending my 2x asking price suggestion...if you had a good idea of real market value a fair approach would have been to split that price. You are indeed providing a service by educating as to the true worth of his Linn. Split the price. Both ...
One's trash is someone else's treasure
I don't think it was Gemini's obligation to do someone ele's market research. On the other hand, for the sake of conscience it might have been good to offer more than asked (2x the selling price?)...still a bargain I think. In any case, no one for...
Any Putumayo fans?
Tubemiser - I am clueless about Dan Storper and Putumayo world music. What's it about? Clue me in.
1A fuse instead of 1/2A fuse: any problem?
Sorry - I lost track of your original issue. HiFi Tuning Fuses from the Cable Company might be an option. They appear to have an 0.5 amp option in 2 different size fuses. I used a Radio Shack fuse temporarily and then switched to one of these for ...
1A fuse instead of 1/2A fuse: any problem?
Ezekiel makes a good point about "fast blow" vs "slow blow". I did need to replace a fuse at one point and Radio Shack did have them.
