My New System Congratulations. Put up some photos. There is a place under your user ID to put photos and ID your equipment. It is great to see what different folks have put together. It sounds like you room is a bit challenging. It is possible we could recomm...
DH Labs @ffontan +1 DHLabs is my go to budget cable. I have some around as a standard. A couple years ago after hearing all the positive remarks about Blue Jeans, I bought a set of BJ interconnects. After some breakin and testing I concluded they were n...
Can I get my Prima Luna to sound more like a SET/300B? Total Harmonic Distortion, peak watts... even RMS watts is deceptive. There are so many measurements that sound like they should tell you something concrete in high end audio that don’t. What stuff sounds like is what counts. Well designed 300b ...
Converting Vinyl to Digital If you're looking for an activity or you have a special collection of very old rare vinyl, then this could be a great pursuit. However, it is somewhat like high end audio. Putting together a system to play music with great fidelity can take decade...
The verdict - Burmester 232 is worth MUCH MUCH MUCH more than its price!!! If I join the Burmeister Facebook group, then my Facebook feed is going to be full of Burmeister posts. Not something I want.
The verdict - Burmester 232 is worth MUCH MUCH MUCH more than its price!!! OP, Cool, So you spent a LOT more than $50K. I think you see different things. I am not a member of the group... so I doesn’t let me in. I see a really fancy all Burmeister system.
The verdict - Burmester 232 is worth MUCH MUCH MUCH more than its price!!! Congratulations! High end audio is a great pursuit. I has been incredibly gratifying for the over fifty years I have pursued it. Times like yours are priceless, taking your system to a new level. If you create a virtual system, we'll all be able...
Wasted Years. I enjoy the music now as well. But in all honesty I really enjoyed the pursuit of better sound, even with its twists and turns. I assembled some great sounding systems. However... For me, it wasn’t just a shift in my mental focus... it was litera...
Olympica Nova III or V? Then I have no explanation. I have twenty years of experience with Sonus Faber and they have never under any circumstances sounded like that. They are musical and forgiving speakers that sound natural.
My last rodeo OP, Call and make appointments. Tell them your tastes and what you want to hear. So, reserve three or four hours at each place. If they know you are coming from that distance, they can have everything set up and essentially reserved. I have done ...
Olympica Nova III or V? "....but became grating over time.started becoming edgy, clanky, piercing, edgy and clenched sounding and this was with the prescribed amps being used in the demo..." The above description of sound was coming from the electronics... not due to th...
Streamers rabbit hole Off the top of my head I would definitely recommend the Aurender A1000. But you have already auditioned that. You did not like it? What of the others? If none of these are standing out, then perhaps your amp or setup is not up to differentiating ...
Should I get the Moon 891 streamer/dac/preamp for my Moon 861 amp? Or separates? Yes Luxman is very bright. I would look into a good tube preamp like Audio Research, Zesto, Conrad Johnson. Unless you like highly detailed analytical sound.
Olympica Nova III or V? Either would sound great... but I would go with the Nova V as well. I have owned Olympica and now Amati Traditional.
Should I get the Moon 891 streamer/dac/preamp for my Moon 861 amp? Or separates? Having owned Moon in the past, I would want a DAC and preamp that is warmer and more musical than Moon tends to be. So, perhaps this is good. |
