STREAMING - QOBUZ VS TIDAL AND ROON'S PREFERENCES
@moonwatcher    😊👍
New equipment
😊👍   I don’t know where you are in the disease. But if this is in the construction of your first great system @dweller is correct. There is a lot of shuffling needed to build your first satisfying system. But once you get there it is worth it. T...
How Audiphiles are Different
@2psyop  True. I so much like it when we stay on light, helpful, respectful side.
Bought an Audio Research Amp
@rfnoise  Yes, I’ve had that crazy moniker on audio for nearly my whole adult life. Even when my system was very modest… but was not modest compared to my meager income.
Point of diminishing returns for a Network Streamers?
@rman9   Thank you. Your system looks beautiful as well. Luxman has improved from good to great over the last couple decades. Good choice.
Isn't it really about quality of recording?
@rumi   Thanks for your perspective on recordings. Valuable to hear.   Personally, for years I pursued the latter “good” system… scrape details with lots of slam and over the years switched to the kind that makes all recording sound better… a...
How Audiphiles are Different
@mikelavigne Mike. Thanks for your post. You come across as very much the essence of an audiophile. What is important is dedication and open mindedness… then approaching getting the best sound by whatever method (frequently massive effort with a...
For those that have separate Streamers & DACS
OP, An Aurender streamer is a complete solution. Plop it down, hook it up, open your iPad App… your done. For me… the best sound I have had… simply controlled and integrated with all my local files. No screwing around.
Thoughts on the Linn LP12 turntable
@daveyf  +1
Streaming vs Physical Media

STREAMING - QOBUZ VS TIDAL AND ROON'S PREFERENCES
@moonwatcher I have made direct comparisons between red book CD, the same Qobuz recording, files located locally… exact same sound quality… however Qobuz is frequently better because the have 1/2 million high Rez albums. My DAC is my CD player… ...
DAC diminishing returns
OP, Most of us have started out a bit wary of “big buck” audiophile stuff. Most of us then had a world changing purchase. For me, my first audiophile component was a tape deck. I had purchased this highly reviewed “amazing” Onkyo (midfi) deck. ok...
Point of diminishing returns for a Network Streamers?
@rman9    I own an Aurender N100 and W20SE. My systems are shown under my UserID.
Will rebuilt Quad ESL 57s take the place on a great $30K dynamic speaker?
OP, Mike does this mean you have received the Quads… or are still waiting? I can’t tell from your entry for sure.   I think I would miss the full spectrum sound of the dynamic speakers. I had AMT / dynamic or Ribbon / dynamic for decades… but (a...
For those that have separate Streamers & DACS
Aurender. It is all they build and there flagship is arguable the best. I have tried all sorts of MAC, PC, and others as well as owning an Aurlic Aries G2 for nearly a year. I now own an Aurender N100 and Aurender W20SE. You can see them under my ...
