What speakers have you mistakenly let go and then later repurchased?
Never happened to me.
Why not?
OP… @bruce19 Thanks for your comment. Really interesting question. You know, at this point in the evolution of technology there is not a solution.   Originally, when I got into this I was a practicing scientist, and quickly I realized there w...
One turntable with two arms, or two turntables with one each - which would you prefer?
@lewm … “I think that makes me —- crazy”. 👍👍👍👍. I mean, it’s OK… most folks think the amount of money I put into my system is crazy… although… three or more hours of listening a day… and the enjoyment I get, seems well worth it.    If having many...
Anyone else feel like it’s the Wild Wild West?

OP, That is the right question, difference in sound… not better. I like Hong Kong. Where do you live? Must be challenging listening in an apartment.
Does a turntable make a DRAMATIC difference?
@newbee …”ghprentice, I suspect I might, just might mind you, be much more anal than you when it comes to vinyl.”   😊👍… I think everyone is!… what is the opposite of anal? That is me.
Ideal power cord lengths?
OP,   I am happy to hear you want to hear the difference yourself with cable lifters. Tell us what your impressions are. When I was younger, I can’t tell you how much testing I did with interconnects and power cords… many, many hundreds of hours...
Looking for a streamer/DAC
I am an old geezer that has been with digital every step of the way. I am going to assume you want streaming to sound as good or very nearly to your other sources. Meaning you can fully enjoy your streaming and not keep going back to other sources...
Power cords or power conditioner
The power cord to your amp will likely have a large impact. Given what you are attempting, I recommend trying an AudioQuest Hurricane. I would borrow or rent. These have become extremely popular because of their ability to add transparency and det...
One turntable with two arms, or two turntables with one each - which would you prefer?
Absolutely without question one turntable with two arms. As you said at the same investment level. Turn table performance improves phenomenally with cost (assuming yo are doing your research). Two tts at half the price at almost any cost level are...
Has anyone compared the Linn Akurate with the new Selekt DSM Katalyst?
While I have heard several of the Linn DSMs. I never did any analytical or comparative listening. But more from experience with Linn and other reputable high end brands. They are carefully priced on sound. Dealers and users are quickly going to su...
Aurender N20 vs N200 with a Berkeley Reference DAC 3 and Berkeley USB Interface Box
I have an Aurender W20SE and have used a Berkeley Alpha Reference 3 … I found the AES the better connector.    On the other hand, I preferred the Audio Research CD/DAC to the Berkeley… but by such an incredible narrow margin it was negligible (al...

@rdk777    You live in the Pacific Northwest? I will happily let you come over and listen to my Linn LP12 and see if you think that is true. I’ll happily listen to your Kuzma.
Ideal power cord lengths?
OP,   Good idea. When I was new to high end audio I quickly heard important differences in speaker cables, interconnects and realized that this little stuff really makes a difference. Then I read an article in The Absolute Sound, in the 80’s… th...
Need help deciding on a new amp
This is difficult. From your discussion, it doesn’t sound like you have a firm understanding of the underlying components and desirable sound.   Slam is very artificial, as @fuzztone pointed out. Let me suggest a good solution that you are consi...
