Chord DAVE DAC I will admit I bought a new DAC before my high end Japanese toilet. I am an audiophile after all. I lived in Japan off and on for years. One of the most wonderful things in Japan… the bathroom… huge water pressure, great smelling soaps, and the...
Setup Speakers Along Long Wall? Typically the problem comes from footfalls on a hung floor. The solution for many decades has been mounting the turn table on a wall mount. There are many such solutions on the market. This will allow you to place your turntable wherever you want.
Chord DAVE DAC ASR does not produce valuable reviews upon which to base purchase decisions. I would not recommend anyone let it influence them in the smallest way.
Zen mini mark III with lps or zen mark III My rule of thumb is to never spend less than 2x or more on an upgrade or you are likely to just make a horizontal move. I don’t think I have ever been disappointed following this rule. However, I do a lot of research to make sure the sonic charact...
Lessons of youth @newbee There is no question what you say is true for me as well. As much as it is possible to turn off the auto focus and other auto stuff on a contemporary cameras… it just seems impossible to do it… at least for me. Forcing myself to think ab...
MM, MC, or MI cartridge @newbee Ok, that is just sad… a personal problem. Once you get a piece of equipment that sounds great… time to relax and really enjoy it. Over the decades, I actually realized that that “analytical” mode wasn’t useful for more than a few minu...
3k Phono preamp upgrade options (JC3+, XP-17, etc) Personally I was unable to find a truly great phono stage until I switched to Audio Research and tubes. To me these get tone tone and details right. I would recommend looking at a used Audio Research… or Conrad Johnson… or Cary.

Lessons of youth @larsman I have a Nikon F sitting behind me on a book shelf with a couple lenses. I remember dreaming as a kid of some day owning a Nikon F series. It was of great pride when I could… then the best of the digital series and a dozen of their b...
Lessons of youth @larsman Me as well… since the 60’s. I slowly switched to digital in the 90’s and really started get good in the 2000’s. A hundred thousand photos from around the world as I traveled for work. A few years ago I finally decided to ask myself if ...
Go get out your pitchforks, I’ve done a sacrilegious thing. . . @henry53 Wow, sorry to hear your story. I needed to buy a house quickly… in a few days… corporate move. We whizzed through homes… the one we chose was big, and had an office, big open area and library / fireplace area on the ground floor (under...

Just got a new Bluesound Node. Very disappointed! Glad to hear you figured it out. I agree with @oddiofyl… moving up in streamers will really help. I recommend Aurender… as high a level as you can afford. They are really natural sounding and get better and better in no small increment moving up t...
Go get out your pitchforks, I’ve done a sacrilegious thing. . . Thanks for your comments. Your systems look great. Lots of folks love the Loki. I am fortunate enough not to need one. My past experience was always negative with equalizers… sounds like they are getting better.
Can an ARC VM220 be upgraded to KT 150 Tubes? +1 all of above comments. |
