Fee for home audition
OP,   You should be fine accessing your NAS. No additional connections required. When a connected mt streamers, they automatically found my NAS and asked if I wanted to import it. So, you should be good. I’m sure there is a setting to just acces...
Lend me your ears...
It would be great to see your system / venue. There is a place under your UserID to put it. Really helpful for us to be able to help. You can see my systems. In mine, my really great analog end sounds the same as my digital end. I am happy with b...
Distinctly Digital Forever?
One can have digital sources sound as good and natural as analog. Getting there just requires careful choices… as in choosing analog equipment. A preamp cannot correct for a feed that is not natural, just like DAC cannot make up for a streamer th...
An interesting experience with power cable.
I have an extra refrigerator in the basement. I got a converter plug so I can use a power cord as an extension cord and let it power the refrigerator to break in a new power cords.

Congratulations on your purchase. Sounds like a great component. Using a WiFi extender with a high end streamer solves the problem of running Ethernet lines. I know of more than one high end audio system running on a WiFi extender…. And yes the E...

I am an audiophile. I have been one for over fifty years. I am attracted and drawn to great sound and music… the combination. I derive great pleasure from this pursuit. Each improvement that allows me to better enjoy music. Everything about this ...
Casual listening
There is definitely a difference between listening to your system and listening to music. Your can switch on the “analytical” mode… or try not to turn it on.   However, your system plays a big part of what you tend to do. For decades I worked on...

@james633    If you have a ground loop issue then it has to do with the fact that some of your components are connected to your breaker box through circuits that have a different resistance than others… this causes a trickle of current running t...
An interesting experience with power cable.
OP,   Thanks for the additional info. All cables must be taken in the context of your components. It seldom makes sense to spend 50% of the value of a component on a power cord, for instance… because that money applied to a component upgrade is ...
Krell vs Mcintosh
@erik_squires    +1   You really have to listen to any amps you are considering they sound completely different. Character could be the most important thing… as opposed to power. Krill and MacIntosh are very different… as is Audio Research and...
Power cords known to produce good bass
I use the current generation of Transparent power cords on all my components with the exception of my amps… they use AudioQuest Hurricanes. They are really clean, Transparent, with excellent bass. Highly recommended.
We should reject hard-to-drive speakers more often
I’m pretty sure speaker designers go for sound quality first and end up with hard to drive speakers. I was a long term fan and owned electrostatic and ribbon speakers (Acoustat, Apogee)… I was happy with the journey… and owned several enormous hea...
Preamp Advice/experiences needed
Go to your userID. You want to create a virtual system. If you click around a bit.. you’ll hit on it. You can easily upload photos and add your components.
An interesting experience with power cable.
OP,   Happy to hear that you got improvement using your new power cord. Power cords to the amp can make a huge difference. These days power cords are customized to either low current components or high current. The low current ones emphasize no...
