Audio Research I/50 Integrated Amp
@docknow +1 Hmmm, maybe I'll buy one. I love the I/50. Every time I have listened to one, I fall in love again. Then realize I don't need one. Perhaps I'll replace my Primaluna integrated.
Optimized Center Channel
OP, Thank you for your thoughts after your listening session.  Are you volume constrained? I often have to listen to our HT with my partner in a nearby room... and hence have to have the volume turned way down. So, sometimes I need to turn on the...
Pass Labs xa-25 or Coda Continum #8
OP,  Yes I understand. I am by nature not a patient person. I completely get it. Whittling it down to a hand full is good. When you get your speakers you can focus on getting to know them and positioning them. Sounds like you already know it will...
Last Critical Tweak… how to quell occasional high harshness…?
After a cursory look at your components... it is really puzzling. It would take some really bad interconnects to do this kind of thing to the sound of your components.  Could we please see your system. Please post photos in a Virtual system. When...
Pass Labs xa-25 or Coda Continum #8
I'd get the Volti, get them broken in, carefully set up, and then start thinking about an amplifier. I typically want to have a known starting point... as in I know what the speakers sound like with what I have... then start the search.
Room Acoustics and Speaker Placement
OP  Thanks.  The great thing is that regardless of your investment level optimizing your setup willl make a huge difference in the sound quality and is great experience for later systems. When you have time after a couple weeks, add some photos ...
What wire to use instead of Romex
Use an electrician for installation. But specify the wire. They will think you are crazy, every time I have done it they have. They will refuse to believe that different wire sounds different. I just asked them to humor me. Definitely 10 gauge. I ...
Optimized Center Channel
OP, Looking at your system. I would try moving the center up and point the tweeter at your ear level (as someone recommended). My center is low, I used different elastomer pucks to angle it up towards my ears. I have no problem hearing the dialog...
Aging ears and Nuances
@limomangus  Certainly a good warning. Excellent thought.  However, the volume on headphones and earbuds is adjustable. Blasting not required. I literally spent thousands of hours listening to headphones as a geologist in the '70s driving for ei...
Optimized Center Channel
Sounds like you have a problem... unless your hearing is very compromised your system probably just needing adjustment. When you equalize the channels, you can give a boost to the center channel. 85% of the dialog comes from the center channel.  ...
Turntable-Amplifier-Speaker configuration question.
Or use the phono out on the Technics to the Phono input on the Denon.
CD's or Vinyl?
@limomangus +1
??? Where Does "High End" Start ???
@toddalin  ... "Where Does High End Start???" ...Just above what you can afford.   Good One!
Room Acoustics and Speaker Placement
Ultimately, you have to try stuff. I would keep the two feet on the right to start with. Looks like you can gain nearly a foot on the left. Since there is not a wall close to the left speaker you have more space there. 6 feet apart would be a good...
Aurender N10 still Relevant in 2025
Never mind the N250, I must have imagined that one. I do not know that it is in the works.
