surg protection / high output amps
If you can’t go whole house, I second a Furman product... particularly in the Elite realm... they have many options.
Will a $700 turntable outperform a CD player?
There is NO question streaming is the way to go to explore new music. The access to new (even old) recordings is amazing. Some streaming services are better than others. But hands down, for  variety and convenience, streaming cannot be beat.

Rush Permanent Waves 40th Anniversary
I generally shy away from RR’s as well. However, these 40th anny sets Rush is doing are great collectors IMO. Especially since they are one of the top two of my favorite all time bands... number one actually.
Does It Matter?
You can easily avoid any possible mishap by simply connecting the remote “fire” from your preamp to your amp. Just requires an 1/8th inch cable. This way, it’s never a worry. But as Miller said, these days it’s pretty much moot.
powercords
I’d like to know how a power cable, powering an external power source, that only powers the rotating mass of a TT motor, plays a roll in sound enhancement? In terms of PC’s on everything else? 100% agree, there is a vast difference by upgrading th...
High Powered Holographic Amplifiers
Or, if your current system is truly “holographic” already... if it ain’t broke why fix it? And I agree, cables. Make all the difference.
good discussion on power cords
I would have argued all day long that cables don’t make that much difference (all cables) until I tried an Audioquest power cable my local guy let me borrow for a few reasons. I was absolutely stunned. I would have never bet, nor at the time did I...
Will a $700 turntable outperform a CD player?
As a relatively new vinyl come back, I can say I prefer the overall vinyl experience vs CD/digital. Having said that, there are times when listening to LP’s simply isn’t practical. I still listen to cd’s, and I listen to a lot of digital music as ...

Why Don't More People Into Music Reproduction At Home Play Around With Musical Instruments
@lloydc Dead on with your note regarding recorded music never being the same as live. Recorded music is tweaked to "sound" like the artist/producer intended. Not to be a true representation of what instruments sound like. Take my drums for example...
Why Don't More People Into Music Reproduction At Home Play Around With Musical Instruments
Yeah, not many $100.00 instruments are going to accomplish what you suggest. Though any good musician can make any level of instrument work well, and sound pretty good. As a recently retired professional musician (I continue to play on my own time...
Time for a (reasonably priced) phono preamp...
Yeah, I just bought a Lehmann Black Cube with the big remote power source. Awesome for the $$$. If you can find an older, gently used one, you would be right in your price range. They have the “entry” Black Cube that seems to be getting good reviews.
Rush Permanent Waves 40th Anniversary
Interesting, I think it sounds great. Particularly the live stuff... I suppose, to each their own?
Integrated Amp $1200 or less
Check out the Parasound New Classic, nice little Int in the range. Take a look at some of the Peach Tree offerings as well. Parasound also has several separates options that might work too.
