Integrated Amp Question for a Newbie to the Forum What is your budget? Honestly all of the newer line are nice, but the H390 hits a very real sweet spot for the $$$.
Integrated Amp Question for a Newbie to the Forum The Hegels are great. Give one a listen... you’ll probably buy it.
Very Limited Space/Wall Outlet I agree with Erik on the room treatment. It is a very much required investment for a system to really shine, regardless of connector thingies.
Parasound Hint 6 or separates? The Hint 6 is great, but the Hegels are in a different league. Particularly the big ones, H390/H590. Yes, I’ve had both Parasound and Hegel.

Any way to listen to wav or high bit files with anything approaching audiophile sound? @wolfie62... maybe? Not so much. Depends. https://youtu.be/YgEjI5PZa78
Any way to listen to wav or high bit files with anything approaching audiophile sound? You didn’t mention your system, you simply said it was “decent audiophile equipment” that’s pretty broad around here. If you could be more specific, it might be easier to know if a Bluesound Node is a good bet, or something else. I do agree howeve...
Very Limited Space/Wall Outlet I have a similar problem, but with different issues. My current solution is the power strip Eric shows, I use one for the digital side, tv etc. and currently use the Furman Elite 15 PFI for all my analog gear. I am swapping that out with a Decware...
Still Need Help Can you be more specific? What do you mean “vibration”? Is the sub output vibrating/energizing the room enough to effect the TT during playback, or are you getting woofer subsonics when the stylus hits the vinyl? Two different problems.
Static electricity I’m in Colorado and static is very sticky business. Drives me crazy! Especially vinyl. I gave up on mats, leather, cork, felt you name it... just makes it worse. Rubber might be an exception, haven’t tried that. I’ve found cleaning to be the best ...
Turn Table Cable Length What imhifman said, short run to phono amp, longer interconnect. Keep in mind, the signal coming out of the cart is very low output and after 2-3’ (maybe shorter) the signal is degrading. Get your phono pre close if you can.
Shunyata interconnect cables experience I had Venoms with my ARC LS 17 SE and Parasound JC5. Excellent interconnect for the $. I make my own now, but those were some of my favorites.
Parasound Hint 6 or separates? I have had both, though I went with the A21 vs A23. The separates vs the int were very close with the exception of the power of the a21. Sonically they were pretty much the same with maybe a bit more air with the separates. Either way, I really be...
SVS vs REL and experiences with both: your comments and preferences... I’ve had 2 SVS woofers, one dead right out of the box. SVS customer service was great, but woofer number two had a dead amp. Complete garbage IMO. Bad luck, sure... but, come on man! My S510 is great. No complaints, yet.
Can AC Outlets really make a difference? Another resounding yes. I use PS Audio power ports currently, and rewired most of that circuit with higher grade sockets. Even that made a difference, and my household power sucks. Considering a dedicated line as well. 100% convinced it makes a di... |
