Bulk power cables suggestions
I can tell you, the Furutech offerings are top notch. Let’s face it, they build stuff for everyone. It’s like Ferrari suppling engines to F1. What some teams do with those engines is better than others. Point is, you can get some VERY good cabling...
Remarkably better sound possible with just 1 system component change?
As mentioned, you room is a tough one. We ALL have room issues unless able to build and dedicate a listening room as strictly a listening room. When a room has dual, or multi purpose, there are concessions made. There has to be. With your room, al...
Amp Size/Recommendation to Fill a Large Volume Room
Jc1’s would get it done. The JC5 is another good 1 box option. The Pass Labs you mention would an excellent choice too. The realm you are asking about all are excellent choices. Really depends on budget, room setup etc. not sure you can “go wrong”...
Right speakers for big room limited to small room placement options
Budget?
Bulk power cables suggestions
Check out VHaudio.com and have at it... I don’t agree the “pro cables” are always better... but I will say terminating cables properly is the magic and poorly terminating expensive cables if you don’t know how, is a lesson in frustration and tenac...
Differential Balanced Sound Quality
You’ll find the thoughts on this very polarizing, and in reality, it just depends. My current system is all single ended, with the exception of my phono pre out. I run that balanced for several reasons. I’m not a fan of preamp to amp balanced conn...
Phono cable suggestions...?
Check out Audio Sensibilities. The have some great offerings for reasonable cost.
Back to vinyl need phono stage help!
Another vote for the Parasound JC3 jr. I’ve gone through a revolving door with phono stages. Higher priced and lower. Tube and SS. The Parasound just works and for the $ is a great piece. And I agree with mijostyn on that JC3. If noisy it has noth...
Whats on your turntable tonight?
@spiritofradio... it’s great! Mine is the 2015 press. Not sure if it is remastered though. Doesn’t seem to be. Interesting hearing all of this on vinyl again after years of CD’s. Me likey!
15 foot RCA cables out of TT with no pre amp?
Doubtful the Onkyo has balanced inputs. If it does, XLR outs are a good idea, but would need a new cable too, and they are usually more expensive than their similar quality RCA counterparts. At the level of TT etc. you could pick up a Pro-Ject pho...
15 foot RCA cables out of TT with no pre amp?
You want your TT and “stereo” as close together as possible, and see how it sounds. Or, get yourself a secondary phono stage and put that as close to your TT as possible and run the RCA’s out form it to the Onkyo.
Whats on your turntable tonight?
@reubent... a great one for sure!Cooking with Brubeck now- Take Five
Whats on your turntable tonight?
Rush: Hold Your Fire...  one of my all time fav’s.
Midrange/treble harshness at volume
I agree, treat your room. Makes all the difference, and doesn’t have to be ugly, obtrusive, or expensive.
Warm, rich but detailed SS preamp (made you give up tubes)
I’ve got a Pass XP12 anything but “neutral and boring “... the others are steps up from it, I’m sure they would be an excellent choice potentially.
