Node 2 and Yamaha AVR, go digital or analog? +1 Jond.If you do, I would be interested in what you find. The Node 2 is supposed to have a decent DAC (for the money).B
Best interconnect burn-in method Oh droleg, you bad man! Very bad man!(Wagging finger, too).B
Integrated vs Separates, New vs Used - Rogue Audio, Simaudio, McIntosh??? Input Needed! I think you are doing this backward, but, hey, it's your life. For me, I would audition as many speakers as possible in order to get a fix on what 'sound' I liked. Once I get that locked in, then I would concentrate on the amp, pre and source.B
Computer PS Upgrade (Fuse/IEC/Teflon Cap) Experimenting is what makes this "mod-it-yourself" hobby really fun. True.Let us know what you find.B
Streaming Tidal - What hardware is out there beyond the Bluesound The Bluesound makes it so easy to connect different rooms and also stream high quality music.I had Airfoil previously, but the Bluesound is much better.

Streaming Tidal - What hardware is out there beyond the Bluesound +1 Kalali,I use the Bluesound Node 1's, but only as streamers. Though the Node 2 is supposedly better DAC-wise, I would keep the Node 1's and get better DAC's. For the money, I can't think of anything else comparable. Also, directly connect via e...

Requesting Advice on Speaker Upgrade Thanks Bomd, Zu sells direct, but you can find them used here on Agon and Ebay.If you buy new, they do give a trial period, but I have to say they do require break in to sound their best. One of the reasons I recommend Zu and Vandersteen is that th...
Requesting Advice on Speaker Upgrade This is a bit of a challenge. You have 60 wpc, so you are limited to fairly efficient speakers. Perhaps a pair of used Zu speakers might fit the bill.Your room is nicely sized, so I wouldn't expect super deep bass without subs.Otherwise, I would s...
Wife trouble Boy, I'd hate to be a woman on this forum.B
2 sub-woofers. One with cable and one with wireless transmitter? I don't have any experience with this, but basic logic says to run both wirelessly. Of course, you could always try one wired and the other wireless and see if it makes a difference.I would be grateful if you posted your results.B
Dac: Does anyhting beat the Schiit Gungnir Multibit (Gumby) in the same price range? A used Ayre Codex.I bought the Gungnir (non multibit), and the Ayre was better, not a huge difference, but it sounded tighter and more coherent, and a nicer soundstage. Also, a little more 'natural'.I'll probably have it upgraded soon (they seem t... |
