Wilson New Speaker Master Chronosonic
For that amount of money, you could hire the musicians and listen to the music live.B
Vibration control inside a cabinet
This is kind of a tough question as it depends upon your cabinet and its' construction.Though it may be considered heresy to some on this forum, I don't worry too much about it. Some of these tweeks can get a bit anal, as well as costly.I mostly u...
Suggestions for active crossover setup please.
Isn't this what Vandersteen does? I use the M5-HP crossovers with the Vandy subs. The only thing that keeps you from using it with other subs is that the Vandy sub output compensates for the crossover attenuation.Bob
The very best Sibelius recordings in analog
I am listening to the Christian Ferras/Karajan recording of the Violin Cto. on Spotify. I bought this when I was in college and remember it well.I still sounds wonderful.Bob
A Different Solution for Cables
How do you piggyback interconnects?Bob
Computer, software, USB cable or ?
I use a PC and can run Fidelizer. It made a huge difference in sound quality. I don't know about Mac, but there must be another OS optimizer that can do what Fidelizer does.I also upgraded my USB cables to Audioquest Forest and noticed a small but...
Rack stabilization alternative to lally columns and beam?
That is always the best way. And, I would be interested in hearing which way sounds better.Bob
Speaker recommendation for married couple
I would still recommend the Vandersteen's. Johnny Rutan can give you a great system.FWIW, I have the Vandy Treo's, 2w subs, and Atma-Sphere amp and preamp and think it is about as good as it gets.Bob
Rack stabilization alternative to lally columns and beam?
Kenny, yes I do understand what you were going for. In my opinion, I would bolt the rack directly to the studs, rather than introduce dampening. If you were to do what you are intending, I think it would add to the instability of the rack, not red...
Is Anything Really "Future-Proof"?
I wouldn't put my money on MQA, just yet.Funny that you bring this topic up-I own Ayre, Atma-Sphere, McCormack and Vandersteen. All of whom can provide upgrades to their equipment.Bob
Speaker recommendation for married couple
Vandersteen Treo's or Quatro's. Nice sound and nice styling.Bob
Rack stabilization alternative to lally columns and beam?
I was following another thread and the OP mentioned Townsend Audio-http://www.townshendaudio.com/hi-fi-home-cinema-equipment-vibration-isolation/seismic-isolation-pods...They make a lot of products, but these pods look interesting, but are unfortu...
Looking for CD player recommendations that are a great match with Classe & Vandersteen
Thanks Itzhak.@jsbach1685 ,I wouldn't discount streaming altogether. Apple and Apple Music isn't the best way to stream music (Though I am probably going to be slammed for saying it). Even a Bluesound Node will give you better results. I own them ...
Amps Atma-Sphere M-60 Mono blocks OTL design
Ozzy, I don't have the Zero's. I only mentioned it because when I changed the crossover settings of the M5-HP, things sounded grainy/shrill. John Rutan said it was that the circuit needed to settle in for about 60 hours or so. Hence, I was wonderi...
Rack stabilization alternative to lally columns and beam?
Can't you raise the rack a bit so that it will not be affected by the floor?Your subs should be on isolating points, and therefore not contributing to any floor vibration. As far as wall vibration, then I would be concerned that the speakers would...
