Your Side by Side Experience With Best Vintage vs Newer Expensive Hi Tech Speakers
@j_stereo ,You make some good points. I remember hifi mags in the 70-80's were always focused on distortion figures, and that high fidelity meant reproducing sound without artifacts or coloration of the signal.B
Analog playback on computer.
If anyone prefers vinyl to digital, fine. For me, it's that I grew up with vinyl. I remember the pops and ticks, the stuck needle, having to walk carefully so as not to have the needle jump, and getting up every 1/2 hour to turn the lp over.Perhaps...
Vandersteen, DNA & SMcAudio (AKA "Mod Squad")
+1 Hifiman,I, too, have the Treo's and 2wq subs using the crossover. The nice thing about SMc is that they will upgrade your component to match the speakers and related equipment. You did well for a 'blind' upgrade. What is your preamp?B

It's not that I am saying vintage speakers won't hold there own,but that technology has made them better. Also, comparing 20-40 year old speakers, without restoration is not a fair comparison.B

Help—How to Marry High Bitrate Digital Streamers to Two Channel Audio Systems
Yes, I read that. Unfortunately, it is an issue for some, and from some of the questions sent to Bluesound, I think they realize their deficiencies. Considering how good their customer service is, I think that issue will be corrected soon. As you ...

Subwoofer for Ayre AX-7e?
@jackd ,The Vandy subs use crossovers at the 80 to 90hz frequency, so will more than likely be able to work with just about any speaker. The OP could use the 2wq's with his integrated if he sent it to Ayre to have it modified to include the crossov...
