High-End Standmounts: KEF LS50W vs. NOLA Boxer II vs. Revel M106
Well, rockrink, I guess Clarke was carried away to an alternate dimension by the Nolas S3s and hasn’t returned yet. No fear.I’m taking possession of a pair on Friday and I promise to let you know how they sound. I wrote Carl, as I’ve owned many No...
Can you run the HANA SL MC at 100 ohms?
I was not happy with the Hana ML at 121 ohms. I used two phonostages, the Groove at 47k, and another, loaded first at 121 ohms and then at 47k. Both phonostages sounded more "unfettered" at 47k.I’ve loaded cartridges at 47k for 40 years. With Audi...
Shunyata Alpha/Delta NR Line.
Allhifi: haven’t been in here in a while.I’ve no need to get other equipment to evaluate the shunyata, thanks. There’s been a flow of equipment throughout the house: ARC, Hegel, Parasound. And if I needed it, a dealership with things i USED to own...
What should my next cartridge be?
What's wrong with getting a Hana ML?? A rather BIG step upwards, according to former colleagues.
Beware of NAD M3 Fire Hazard
I’ve had NAD BEE units, of various iterations, for 15 years, and never ONCE had an issue with them. In fact, I recommend them to friends, 4 of whom have had their units in their stereo systems for 6 or more years, and even now, nary a problem.Cert...
Looking for the Best Digital Power Cord
mountz, it’s just my experience (not merely my opinion), but having too many different manufacturer’s cables in the system is not, perhaps, the best idea. Since manufacturers have different goals for their cables, the end effect is not very unifor...
Looking for the Best Digital Power Cord
You could also consider putting a Shakti Online stabilizer on a power cord or speaker cable to remove noise. I’ve done it for years on the top-of-the-line Shunyata (Constellation series, up to the ZiTrons) , Nordost (Valhalla, Tyr, Frey, all of wh...
Shunyata's New Series of Sigma, Alpha and Delta cables
Wow, this is petty late for me to be responding.I have not heard the interconnects, only the power cords and speaker cable.I would find it hard, having owned the Delta, to believe it outperforms ANY ZiTron cable. I had a Delta, Alpha and Sigma, al...
Another Speaker Recommendation Request
What are your musical tastes? Some speakers reveal everything, but cannot "boogie", so if "swing" music is your thing, you might not want that type of speaker. That's the first question that should be asked. So, a bit more information might yield n...
Nola contender tweeters - modify?
I cannot imagine, having owned 4 or 5 models of Nola speakers, that tweeter harshness is likely.I have Contender 1s, and I’ve never heard them sound like that - except for when they were first breaking in (weeks of continuous play, which you would...
Do IC and Power Cables Really Make a Difference?
Ah, someone with experience. I tried an Alpha NR recently and didn’t keep it (which I note I did not mention in my original post). What did you experience with the Alpha and Sigma in your system and were they both the "NR" designation? I have some...
Do IC and Power Cables Really Make a Difference?
I've had every generation of Shunyata power cords ever made, and most of the models, including the  Sigma Analogue, Sigma NR, The Alpha HC, The Alpha NR (the last three current), the initial ZiTrons (Cobra and Python), the CX Python and so on.And ...
Best Shunyata Power Cord for.,,
The Sigma NR is quite a jump up from the Sigma Analogue, in my experience. There is more "there" there. Even with modest electronics, the dynamic "jump" on an NAD C325BEE is surprising, never mind ASL Hurricanes.
Shunyata CX cables
People like the "coloration" that the CX generation provided. I didn't notice the  coloration (manifested as warmth over the entire frequency spectrum), until I got ZiTron cables. I actually re-purchased a CX to see how it sounded after I acclimat...
Need quick Shunyata answer
Yes. Although Shunyata had a previous generation, called the "Alpha" (ZiTron) cables, the Alpha HC is a newer ZiTron generation.
