HOW TO IMPROVE YOUR SYSTEM IN LESS THAN 30 SECONDS
@audioman58 Thanks for pointing out how the Beatles albums were recorded, although I think many people who just joined the audiophile community in the past 20 years are unlikely to have those recordings, as it seems they are much younger than yo...
Best speaker brands for transient response
Transient response has been written about in audio journals for the past 50 years. And it is not my experience that it is a synonym for low distortion. Could you elucidate on that, because I must be misunderstanding you. I can understand that som...
Can hi-end cables benefit less expensive electronics?
Thanks, Willie Wonka. I was about to reply to ghdprentice about that, and say, essentially, what you just said. The noise floor’s lowest level is likely to drop with a better designed power cord. That’s part of the reason I like Shunyata. I have...
DH Labs - Shunyata Cable Comparison
This is more a suggestion, after using Shunyata for 20 years. (part of that time, I also had Nordost, Transparent and Synergistic). Shunyata cables (and Shunyata will tell you this) sound "good" in the first 50 hours, but for those of us familiar...
DH Labs - Shunyata Cable Comparison
One correction from my post. I don’t mean to suggest that simply being young means that people haven’t heard - or aren’t interested in - listening carefully (although it certainly sounds that way on re-reading it). I’m saying there are fewer oppo...
DH Labs - Shunyata Cable Comparison
After years of reading threads on cables, I’ve come to an awareness that the people who are complaining demonstrate a number of issues. 1) They don’t listen to acoustic music (meaning minimally invasive engineering while recording the music), and...
Best speaker brands for transient response
I agree that Magnepans are excellent on transient response. And even more so if it is a 2.7x, which has a ribbon tweeter. And, while I owned WATTS for several generations and have heard the Sashas, I doubt they have ANYthing on Magnepans if it is...
Can hi-end cables benefit less expensive electronics?
I’m not sure I agree that a better power cord is a poor idea for less expensive electronics. The right cord should - at the very least - lower the noise floor, so you hear less electronic interference when playing music, resulting in a clearer so...
Baltimore MD
There is an audio club in the Baltimore/DC area already. Are you familiar with it?
Keep light equipment from tipping up from cable weight?
I use a VPI brick, or one of  the late Lloyd Walker's Valid Points. Both are heavy enough to keep components from tipping.
Do your ears deceive you?
I’m still surprised that people cannot hear differences in cables. For me, nothing could be easier, and a few of my non-audiophile friends I’ve given cables to, hear it,  and they can even identify what they hear cogently. But then, my friends we...
Why were the Shunyata Venom NR V10 / V12 Power Cables Discontinued?
Yes, the Theta replaces the Delta NR V2. And, frankly, it's quite a bit better, especially in the upper midrange and highs.
Shunyata Delta or Alpha V2 NR vs. AQ Hurricane HC
Yes, I was speaking of the sigma NR V2 power cord.
Shunyata Delta or Alpha V2 NR vs. AQ Hurricane HC
My conclusions mirror audphile 1’s. And especially about the entire Alpha line. I had - all the way back to the Zi-Tron line, found the Alpha cables to be....bland. (This is going back to 2011). I find the ZiTron Alpha HC, as well as the Sigma lin...
Why were the Shunyata Venom NR V10 / V12 Power Cables Discontinued?
I believe the NR V10 are still part of Shunyata's offerings. I know they discontinued the V12 and the Delta NR V2.
