Synergistic Red Fuse ...
Yes, My Papa. Me, either. So much so that I ordered 3. I kept deleting the 4th one from the order. It was a 5A fuse that I was going to put into the PS Audio. I had to remind myself to test only the NAD, although I looked at the CJ preamp, longing...
Best fuses for under $50?
auxinput - thanks, in return, for your post. I like the exchange of ideas. It is so much more pleasant to discuss and agree - or disagree - politely, than some of the name calling that happens in so many other forums (and it seems, even in this on...
Synergistic Red Fuse ...
I agree with Oregonpapa: try the fuses and return them within 30 days if they don’t improve your system. I have no qualms whatsoever about doing this. Not that I was thrilled at the increase in price (is anyone????), but given that I can get my mo...
Best fuses for under $50?
Auxinput: I don't disagree that the Furutechs are "transparent." However, they achieve that by "leaning out" the power range of music. And my system was assembled with several different components in each section: I have 5 speaker systems, two pre...
Lifters ForGetting Cables Off The Floor, Worth It Or Snake Oil
When I realize the original subject was getting the cables off the floor, I realize how far this has drifted off the subject, but since I posted about that, I thought I'd also post again about the Seismic platform and pods.I just discovered - like...
Best fuses for under $50?
I would be VERY careful with the Furutech fuses. Let me first say that all of my wall outlets are Furutechs: I had the GTX -D Rhodiums, and, until the NCF came out, I completely missed how bland they were and how much color that was a part of the ...
Lifters ForGetting Cables Off The Floor, Worth It Or Snake Oil
Incidentally, the 4 Townshend Isolation pods arrived. I put them under the NAD integrated and...hmmm, couldn’t hear the improvement. Needless to say, I disagree with Mr. Levi of Positive Feedback:http://www.positive-feedback.com/Issue75/townshend_...
Lifters ForGetting Cables Off The Floor, Worth It Or Snake Oil
Geoffkait, I’ve always considered your comments to be balanced, informative and fair, so I would ask that you TRY the Townshends before commenting on what they "seem like." It is POSSIBLE that your springs come close to or, Max Townshend forbid (!...
Lifters ForGetting Cables Off The Floor, Worth It Or Snake Oil
Geoffkait, no doubt you're right. There are, I'm sure, many solutions and ways to isolate to 2 hZ. A friend was given the Townshend isolation platform to put into his modest system (which I gave him). The Townshend improved his system a whole lot....
Lifters ForGetting Cables Off The Floor, Worth It Or Snake Oil
tgun5:You might be surprised to know that Jonathan Valin, TAS’ chief writer, arrived at the same conclusion about the ceramic lifters. As I recall, he found that they "leeched out" the natural colors of the orchestra.I don’t know Mr. Wolf, but in ...
WHAT HAS WORKED FOR YOU? ISOLATION PLATFORMS, FOOTERS, ETC. for a DAC?
And now for an update...The Townshend platform is impressive, but I thought the dynamics just to be squelched, and the soundstage just a little compressed... And then I looked one shelf lower at my Evans microgroove Plus phono stage. Given all the...
Your choice - TT, Arm, Stage, Cartridge - $5000 budget
A Groove phono stage for $1500??? That’s pretty impressive. I have the 3rd generation Microgroove Plus and it’s quite good. I previously had a Convergent SL-Reference Mk III and think the Groove quite close to it, although the Convergent line stag...
Lifters ForGetting Cables Off The Floor, Worth It Or Snake Oil
You're welcome. I just wish I knew then what I know now: it would have been FAR less expensive than it has been to achieve both great sound and an even greater musical enjoyment, which is really what most of us are aiming for.
WHAT HAS WORKED FOR YOU? ISOLATION PLATFORMS, FOOTERS, ETC. for a DAC?
Incidentally, in my last post, re: HP, I meant to say "he SOWED the seeds of insight even back then that WHERE you put something affects your end result." I’d suggest moving racks up and down the sidewall if you have the space to do it. Or anythin...
WHAT HAS WORKED FOR YOU? ISOLATION PLATFORMS, FOOTERS, ETC. for a DAC?
David, my solution is extremely inelegant. I use a maple chopping block (I have a Finite Elemente Spider Rack) which sits on the rubber feet on the Spider, and I just use a magic marker, which I draw circles around the footers on the maple block, ...
