Girl diagnoses & solves mechanical problem
........gotta admit the above verbal intercourse above is a HUGE improvement over the serious flamewars of maybe a year ago-- I bet A'gon's happy;>). Kudos gang, and Cheers. Craig.
Anyone compare outlets?
Good outlets ARE important, but I agree with Albert and Hdm above re going "overboard". I personally use Hubbell audio grade from the Cable Co. @ 2/$25., Leviton hospital grade, and I have 2 Acme w/o cryo treating. The Acme's initially cause a sig...
not a charming day with snakes
Hi Kelly; a couple of points; 1) it's been my experience that PRaT is a VERY fragile audio characteristic in high resolution systems-- it's easily destroyed or screwed up (you probably know this too?). I know it because I listen to a LOT of music ...
What are we listening to...for...with?
Of course the trick is to put together a high quality sound system that is also truly musical. I'm too damned old to tolerate just listening to good "sound". I'm in it for the music and have built my system acordingly-- well, IMO. Cheers. Craig

Congrats "Tweetie", and fun stories too. I can't solder either. Cheers. Craig
Any good audio book suggestions ???
Hi Sean; I've read them both. IMO, if you're into LPs/analog, you'll love Laura Dearborn's book (but it's badly dated re digital as Sean suggests). But if you're into digital (like me), or just looking for advice on a broader range of high end "in...
Music for "Tough Times"
I'm glad to see that this thread is still picking up a few comments. Thanks to everyone who's posted, I've enjoyed all. I'll add a couple more: "Blues For The Homeless", various artists, and the real deal-- don't know if it's still available. Lore...
Why Doesn't Contemporary Jazz Get Any Respect?
Re Onhwy61; I'm no music historian, but in 1957, Chuck Berry said in his song "Rock and Roll Music":........."I have no kick against modern jazz unless they play it too darn fast and change the beauty of the melody and make it sound just like a sy...
Why Doesn't Contemporary Jazz Get Any Respect?
Bravo Onhwy61; It couldn't be said better, IMO. "Brother Ray" is certainly one of my long time favorites, but I also enjoy Shirly Horn, Diana Krall, Buddy Guy, Emmylou Harris.......... so much music, so little time. Cheers. Craig
How many power conditioners do you own and use?
Hi George; Main system = zero. My main stereo rig has a complete dedicated AC system with 5 dedicated HQ duplex outlets. For accessories I use a Monster HTS 1000, mainly for its many outlets ($100.) In a second TV based system, but with stereo com...
Who R U?
Bishopwill, it's refreshing to have someone so "up-front" about their views on the always controversial subject of subjectivity vs objectivity in high-end audio. Welcome to the Forum. Cheers. Craig.
MusiCoat
I agree with Bob B. above. Steve McCormack offers Music Coat treatment as an option on his "Gold" level up-grades, but I only went to Rev. A with my DNA2DX amp, so I didn't get it. But Steve is a believer in it, and says that it makes music sound ...
Do cables really need "breaking in"?
I've only been through this topic about 300 times-- guess it's always popular or new to some.A bit off subject, but relavent I think: In Oct. 2001, we bought a new, large, wide screen TV-- near $3K and from a major manufacturer. Right out of the b...
Like it or not.....
Hi Sean, and welcome back. There for awhile I had to look up some of your old tomes so my A'Gon day felt "right";>), LOL. Cheers. Craig
How Do You Decide What to Listen To?
'61; a thought provoking thread, and you have an incredible music organization/access system. I identify with those who select music by present mood or maybe desired mood, and BTW, it doesn't always work (for me), and it may take me some time to a...
