What exactly do ya do about a 15 foot run ?
If I could not add dedicated outlets that were closer to where needed (that would be my 1st choice too), I would go with a high quality outlet strip such as the Cardas, but there are others such as JPS which Steve McCormack recommended to me, and ...
A Moment Of Silence For Waylon Jennings
Kinsekd; I had not heard that Waylon Jennings had passed away. Thankyou for the notice, and it is a sad day indeed. I especially liked his "kind of mentorship" to Hank Williams Jr., and I agree he was one of the giants of C/W music. Craig.
music, colors and psychic abilities
I threw out a pink toilet quite a few years ago-- refused to use it, and replaced it with standard, boring old white one. I wonder what that means? I'll take the test later-- sounds interesting, gotta' do taxes now. Cheers. Craig.
A moment of silence for Henry Kloss....
I bought his little Model 1 table radio about a year ago-- a very nice sounding radio and based on his original design. It's attitude(s) and design(s) like his that make our hobby enjoyable or even possible. Craig
Best Place Online For Upgrade Electrical Outlet
I use Hubbell audiograde outlets from The Cable Co. at www.Fatwyre.com, 2 for $25, and they are good. I also have 3 Acme outlets (see web address by Sugar). These are Pass & Seymour outlets that have been taken apart, silver-plated and reassem...
Need Advice on Downsizing :-
Boy it's gotta' be tough to break-up a nice looking system such as you have. To do the least damage long-term, I'd have to agree with Sugar. Digital technology changes faster than amp/pre-amp etc does. Does Nordost have some inexpensive ICs you co...
Spade V/S Banana
I agree with Gthrush1, and I've used both. Cheers. Craig
Buy a hi-end CD player/transport now?
I agree with those who have commented above re SACD and DVD-A. I recently heard SACD in a friends new Sony 777ES SACD player w/3.6 Maggies. Nice sound, but VERY limited software, and quite frankly I prefer music through my own Levinson M37 transpo...
Is this the norm?
.........Jond (to add), I just looked up your feedback-- it's excellent, and you're the kind of person we would all like to do business with. You have a record to be proud of, so don't let a couple of low-lifes discourage you. Cheers Again. Craig.
Is this the norm?
Hi Jond; To answer your question, no your recent experience is not the norm for Audiogon IMO. I've had around 30 transactions and not a bad one in the bunch-- knock wood. As Tim noted, you didn't actually have a completed transaction, so your loss...
20 Amp IEC Where to Buy????
Ken; I have a Syn Res Master Coupler for sale with 20 amp IEC, 5 ft. Do a search under Synergistic Reasearch for my ad-- I'll make you a "deal". I sent you an email. Thanks. Craig
Stock Power Cords?
I have Syn. Res. Master Couplers on all my components and highly recommend them. But what you really need to do is listen to several diferent pcs and see what YOU think. I once auditioned 7 power cords (in a week) from $100 to $1000.-- some I like...
Adcom - A Good Value?? Auctions risky??
I owned an early Adcom 5500 and considered it a decent sounding and built amp. It hummed in my system, but then all amps seem to hum in my system-- it's an electical supply problem in my case. I wouldn't hesitate to buy adcom, but I agree with Abe...
Who R U?
Some really fascinating new Bios above-- welcome. I can identify a bit with Lugnut (neat name), as I went to U of Idaho ('63-'66), bought a '69 Vitimin C Orange Plymouth Road runner in '69, and have pursued photography as a hobby for 30+ years. I ...
Buy a hi-end CD player/transport now?
Ncarv and Sean give good advice. But I think that regular ol' CDs are going to be THE dominent music format for years to come. Cheers. Craig
